Gay marriage. Yes, it's a slippery slope indeed. My belief is that love is love. It's fleeting and beautiful and painful burdonsome and exquisit and empowering and damaging and frustrating, and necessary...regardless.Just because two people are of opposite gender, does not mean they are predisposed to being "better" at it, or more successful. It's no easier for a straight couple to stay the course than it is for a gay couple. If two people want to legally bind to one another, in the eyes of the law, and in the name of love and committment - All the power to them. They should also be able to extend their health benefits, their life insurence, their rights of next of kin, their will, what-have-you, to their life mates, whatever they may be. I think that's only fair. People who are gay, are gay for life. There should be some consideration given to that reality within the confines of social structure. BTW, I love Glenn Beck. IP: Logged | |
