With friends like this, who needs enemas?

State Representative (District 23) Cheryl Chase announced last Thursday in a Republican public meeting with John McCain in Phoenix that she was no longer a Democrat. Although elected as a Democrat from Kearney, truth is she was never a Democrat.

Chase said she has been troubled by the direction of the Democratic Party ever since she was first elected to the Legislature in 2000.

Like Sylvia Laughter before her, Chase ran as a Democrat simply because she lived in a heavily Democratic district and it improved her chances of being elected. Chase, like Laughter, once elected voted with the Repubs most of the time. Changing demographics in Pinal County may now make it easier for Cheryl to be elected as a Republican.

"It's just that the (Republican) party is closer to what I truly am", said Chase.

Yes, Cheryl it is, they are the party of corrupt opportunists, you'll fit right in.

According to The East Valley Tribune:

Pinal County resident Joe Rios of the Democratic National Committee said the county’s demographics have changed, increasing the number of Republican voters and giving Chase a chance at reelection there.

"Hopefully the Democrats in District 23 will reject her," he said. "I hope the same thing that happened to Sylvia Laughter happens to her."

Laughter of Kayenta was the last state lawmaker to switch parties. In 2003, she switched to independent from Democrat. She was immediately given a coveted seat on the House Appropriations Committee by Republican leadership, but still lost her bid for re-election in 2004 to Democrats.

True, but Sylvia's good friend and fellow Mormon, State Treasurer David Peterson made sure she had a better paying job when she failed to be re-elected. Will Cheryl be taken care of as well, if she fails in her re-election bid running as a Republican?

Chase was the only Democratic state legislator to endorse Jon Kyl for re-election to the U.S. Senate.

Chase also defended President Bush's mishandling of the Katrina disaster, and was quoted in the Moonie Times placing the blame instead on local Democratic politicians.

Buh bye Cheryl, don't let the door hit ya where the Good Lard split ya. The more phony Dems we get out of the party, the better off we'll be.
