there's more

always carried my own cloth grocery bags when shopping at the market...brought my own refillable containters for bulk items, such as soap, shampoo, body lotion, almonds, beans and other legumes, almond butter, molasses....etc....bought bulk items whenver possible.

always purchased recycled tissue products, bathroom tissue, all paper products, recycled, or hemp, including resume paper and printer paper....and biodegradable plastic products such as plastic wrap and trash bags.

i chose an apartment in a neighborhood where everything i might need commercially was within walking distance, so i often walked to the co-op and carried my purchases in my backpack. my clothing purchases, in addition to organic natural fibers when possible, were from re-sale shops.

i installed a low-flow water showerhead, and my shower curtain was 100% hemp.

my bed was a futon made of 100% organic cotton, chemical-free, on a wooden frame made from sustainable forestry, and untreated with toxic chemicals as well. organic cotton pillows, as well as 100% natural dyed, organic cotton bedding.

even the stockings i wore with dresses were organic cotton, nylon-free.
