I myself am VERY cynical about the government, in both the intelligence and goodwill practiced by those who operate it, and even I was utterly shocked by what was done in New Orleans.
Out of control government has been the norm throughout history, not the exception. I definitely agree that it's wise to be highly skeptical of governments' professed goodwill... but not its intelligence. Malicious they may be, but stupid they ain't, regardless what figurehead puppet happens to be put up to take the heat. IP: Logged |

Johnny is right.Down through history, citizens have had more reason to fear...(eventually)..their own governments than any outside invader. That's the reason the framers of the US Constitution added the 2nd Amendment and also the reason most states would not ratify the new Constitution until it included some iron clad language about government not infringing on citizens rights....in a lot of different areas.
