Am putting on my political hat here to ask that you all think very carefully before casting your vote on Nov 24.
The issue of the Launceston Pulp Mill is massive. This will affect the future of Tasmania for years to come. Is it really worth the "quick buck" that both Labor & Liberal wish to extract, or is it a matter of the future? Long-term tourism in this area will far outweigh the short-term gain of the Pulp Mill. The Gunns family virtually rule Tasmania with a monopoly that is both unfair and unjust. It comes down to us, the voters in the bigger states to show our disapproval, for what is inherently wrong, for the environment and the generations to come.
For those of you who have children, I urge you to think carefully before either restoring a Government that looks after the wealthy, or installing Labor, who in essence are much the same.
You may ask what has happened to this country? The answer is simple: apathy amongst the Australian population that sees the wealthy increase their wealth and the gap between the upper & lower classes grow bigger by the minute.
You can make a difference, simply by voting for the Australian Greens. Register your protest.
The "right to vote" is something others die for, yet we take it for granted & often see it as just a hassle. If you aren't currently enrolled, please contact the AEC by 8pm Weds 17th October or you will be ineligible.
This election is a big deal. You may not think so, but what we, as a country decide now, will live with our children always.
Just take a moment to think....
