.Here's the deal:
The House has voted 251 to 166 to send articles of impeachment against President Bush to the Judiciary Committee, which is not likely to hold hearings before the end of his term. Representative Dennis J. Kucinich, Democrat of Ohio, who ran for president, spent more than four hours on Monday reading his 35 articles of impeachment into the record. I watched live on c-span while he read these to a virtually "empty house" really very few people were even interested enough to be there. Those who were there were bustling about and pretty much distracting to the whole thing. Several times the gavel was used to quiet the room just so his voice could be recorded to the record. See here
This was not made a big story because we all know clearly it's going nowhere at all...
Refer now to the last Impeachment proceedings
US House Resolution 333
On April 24, 2007, Representative Dennis Kucinich of Ohio presented articles of impeachment against Cheney, as House Resolution 333. It was immediately referred to the House Judiciary Committee, where no action was taken. The resolution has acquired twenty-four Democratic cosponsors since its introduction, six of whom are members of the House Judiciary Committee. After six months without a debate or vote, Kucinich re-introduced identical content as a new resolution, House Resolution 799, on November 6, 2007. This was also referred to the House Judiciary Committee. where uhhh... it still sits.
In all of US history only Two presidents ever came close:
The House of Representatives has voted to impeach two presidents - Andrew Johnson, in 1868, and Bill Clinton, in 1999 - but both were acquitted by the Senate and remained in office. Furthermore, No U.S. vice president has been impeached.
Even Dennis Kucinich knows that "impeachment" could not happen this late in the pres game (err term) but he has done this so as to help slow down the process of war in IRAN (in his own words) poke about the internet a bit more there actually is alot of information about it and yes, it was actually joked about in the main stream media.
HSC because I like you, I'll pass along this last breath of hope...you may wish to view / sign this:
