Well yes, we all know what "street money" really is. It's an attempt to bribe people to register and vote, your way. At the base of this effort is ACORN, a George Soros group which has some of it's staff in federal prison..for such things as registering the same person..many times under different names, in different precincts at different addresses. Registring felons and illegal aliens. Not to be forgotten is ACORN paying people to register to vote...with drugs. Also not to be forgotten is all those registrations which were marked Republican which ACORN took and threw in the trash. Also not to be forgotten are those registered Republicans gleamed from the voters lists for whom ACORN submitted changes of addresses to the Registrar so that when they showed up to vote in the precinct where they lived, their names were not on the voters list for that precinct or not on any list because ACORN submitted a change of address form showing they had moved out of the state.

It's no surprise that ACORN is one of the so called "Community Organizations" with which O'Bomber worked closely. In fact, O'Bomber trained their operatives.

Yes, O'Bomber really is a "New Kind of Politician". And now, we know what a "Community Organizer" really does and that O'Bomber believes this "experience" qualifies him to be President of the United States.

Obama's money problems
Ed Lasky

Barack Obama promised to accept public financing of his general election campaign. This commitment earned him support among some liberals in the primary campaign. But after clinching the Democratic nomination, he broke his promise (a nasty habit of his) and opted out of public financing, believing in his own powers -- not just to stop the melting of the ice caps but also to continue to raise massive amounts of money.

He justified his betrayal with imaginary threats regarding the power of 527 groups allied with the Republican Party. If anything, his party and candidacy benefits more from such groups than McCain-Palin.

Now it appears the One's powers may have weakened. Campaign money woes are mounting . The 50 (or is it 57) state strategy is a thing of the past as offices are being closed.

Donors are being pressured to ante up to stay in the money game, reports the New York Times. They are being admonished -- particularly in his home state of Illinois -- to work the phones and pull out the checkbooks:

After months of record-breaking fund-raising, a new sense of urgency in Senator Barack Obama's fund-raising team is palpable as the full weight of the campaign's decision to bypass public financing for the general election is suddenly upon it.

Pushing a fund-raiser later this month, a finance staff member sent a sharply worded note last week to Illinois members of its national finance committee, calling their recent efforts "extremely anemic."

At a convention-week meeting in Denver of the campaign's top fund-raisers, buttons with the image of a money tree were distributed to those who had already contributed the maximum $2,300 to the general election, a subtle reminder to those who had failed to ante up.

The signs of concern have become evident in recent weeks as early fund-raising totals have suggested that Mr. Obama's decision to bypass public financing may not necessarily afford him the commanding financing advantage over Senator John McCain that many had originally predicted.

I guess the Jon Bon Jovi fundraiser (tickets $30,800 a person -- this is how the other .00045% lives) and the prospect of hearing Barbra Streisand sing are just not doing the trick.

Or is it the prospect of having to hand out large amounts of so-called street money to get out the Obama vote that is driving the need for money? The Wall Street Journal reported over the weekend that politicians in the battleground state of Michigan are suggesting that the Obama campaign start spreading the green:

Some black politicians have pointed out that the Obama campaign could help itself in some urban neighborhoods by deploying what's called "street money" -- essentially, paying people to spend time cajoling folks into filling out registration forms and getting them properly filed. Payment of street money isn't illegal, but it has unsavory connotations

The Philadelphia Daily News has already reported the Obama campaign intends to hand out street money in Pennsylvania to "pump out the turnout in November" and will partner with Democratic ward leaders (something Obama has gained wide experience with by being part of machine politics in Chicago and marrying the daughter of a Daley Machine operative). Of course, as noted by Catherine Lucey of the PDN, such an "unsavory" practice "represents exactly the kind of transactional politics Obama has run against".

Obama's claims that his "management" of the campaign shows he has the skills to be President.

Barack Obama contends that he is more experienced in executive matters than Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin because he has managed his presidential campaign for the past 18 months.

Speaking on a cable news channel Monday night, the Democratic presidential nominee said he is better prepared to handle a disaster like Hurricane Gustav because of his pursuit of the White House.

Profligate spending is a Democratic habit. Maybe that's because so few of them have ever run a business or dealt in a "reality-based world". When one's career has always depended on taxpayer or tax-free foundation money, the grasp of the realities of meeting a payroll is tenuous, to say the least.

Barack Obama now has to keep dunning donors to feed the beast of his campaign. Maybe he should have cancelled the trip to Berlin and the Invesco extravaganza. How many millions of dollars were squandered on these ego-affirming exercises?

We know how Obama ran through and wasted $100 million in charitable donations when he headed the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, with no benefit to the schools and students of Chicago (though grantees, including a former Students for a Democratic Society pal of William Ayers, benefited).

His management of the campaign yardstick comes up short. He needs constant infusions of cash to operate. This sounds suspiciously like his vision of American government: constantly overspending and going back for more (aka, tax hikes) when spending exceeds revenues.

If he becomes President, you can predict fairly securely, based on his performance, that he will also run through your money with abandon.

With Barack Obama what you see is not what you get. His new kind of politics is merely a new kind of packaging.

And probably still won't be able to catch up to Bush.

Well, I dunno acoustic. So far, O'Bomber has proposed about 3 TRILLION DOLLARS in new spending...over and above what is being spent now.

Oh wait, O'Bomber is going to tax the rich to get that money from those who aren't paying their fair share. Obviously, the 60% of all federal income taxes paid by the top 10% of earners just isn't fair.

Truth time acoustic. If the property of the top 10% of earners...all property, cash, real estate, bonds, cars, boats, airplanes, IRAs, offshore trusts...the whole banana were confiscated by the federal government and liquidated for it's cash value..it wouldn't pay for 2 weeks of operating the government of the United States.

O'Bomber is such a big liar that he gives lying a bad name.

However, let the record reflect that you..acoustic did not respond to the main thrust of this post and article...the thrust of which is that O'Bomber/O'Biden are tied to the street gangs of illegality who are involved in attempting to buy votes and wreck havoc on the democratic voting process.

No, I have no knowledge of that. I will point out to you that your article claims the practice is legal.

I will also note that Democrats are ready to pounce at any attempts by Republicans to disrupt this election by interacting with voters.

Who said anything about it being illegal. It is illegal to participate in registering the same person under different names in different precincts. It is illegal to send in phony change of address forms to the Registrar of voters. It is illegal to buy votes. It is illegal to buy votes with drugs. Those are the reasons ACORN personnel are in federal prison and more will be taking the trip to Club Fed.

It is disgusting and contemptible to attempt to interfere in the democratic process of voting which is exactly what the O'Bomber connected ACORN has done and is still doing.

**edit

I fully expect there will be Republican observers at every voting precinct in the country to challenge voters who they believe are not eligible to vote...and that's exactly what should happen.

"street gangs of illegality" - Jwhop

Has Obama ever been prosecuted for doing anything remotely illegal? I'm sure anyone can make any other person guilty by association.

ACORN is the street gang of illegality and more than a few of their operatives are in federal prison for doing the exact things I mentioned.

O'Bomber trained ACORN operatives.

Recent ACORN Fraud and their associated group, Project Vote. O'Bomber trained boys and girls.

AR 1998
A contractor with ACORN-affiliated Project Vote was arrested for falsifying about 400 voter registration cards.

CO 2004
An ACORN employee admitted to forging signatures and registering three of her friends to vote 40 times.
2005 Two ex-ACORN employees were convicted in Denver of perjury for submitting false voter registrations.

FL 2004
A Florida Department of Law Enforcement spokesman said ACORN was “singled out” among suspected voter registration groups for a 2004 wage initiative because it was “the common thread” in the agency’s fraud investigations.

MI 2004
The Detroit Free Press reported that “overzealous or unscrupulous campaign workers in several Michigan counties are under investigation for voter-registration fraud, suspected of attempting to register nonexistent people or forging applications for already-registered voters.” ACORN-affiliate Project Vote was one of two groups suspected of turning in the documents.

MO 2007
Four ACORN employees were indicted in Kansas City for charges including identity theft and filing false registrations during the 2006 election.
2006
Eight ACORN employees in St. Louis were indicted on federal election fraud charges. Each of the eight faces up to five years in prison for forging signatures and submitting false information.
2003
Of 5,379 voter registration cards ACORN submitted in St. Louis, only 2,013 of those appeared to be valid. At least 1,000 are believed to be attempts to register voters illegally.

NC 2004
North Carolina officials investigated ACORN for submitting fake voter registration cards.

NM 2005
Four ACORN employees submitted as many as 3,000 potentially fraudulent signatures on the group’s Albuquerque ballot initiative. A local sheriff added: “It’s safe to say the forgery was widespread.”
2004
An ACORN employee registered a 13-year-old boy to vote. Citing this and other examples, New Mexico State Representative Joe Thompson stated that ACORN was “manufacturing voters” throughout New Mexico.

OH 2007
A man in Reynoldsburg was indicted on two felony counts of illegal voting and false registration, after being registered by ACORN to vote in two separate counties.
2004
A grand jury indicted a Columbus ACORN worker for submitting a false signature and false voter registration form. In Franklin County, two ACORN workers submitted what the director of the board of election supervisors called “blatantly false” forms. In Cuyahoga County, ACORN and its affiliate Project Vote submitted registration cards that had the highest rate of errors for any voter registration group.

MN 2004
During a traffic stop, police found more than 300 voter registration cards in the trunk of a former ACORN employee, who had violated a legal requirements that registration cards be submitted to the Secretary of State within 10 days of being filled out and signed.

PA 2008
An ACORN employee in West Reading, PA, was sentenced to up to 23 months in prison for identity theft and tampering with records. A second ACORN worker pleaded not guilty to the same charges and is free on $10,000 bail.
2004
Reading’s Director of Elections received calls from numerous individuals complaining that ACORN employees deliberately put inaccurate information on their voter registration forms. The Berks County director of elections said voter fraud was “absolutely out of hand,” and added: “Not only do we have unintentional duplication of voter registration but we have blatant duplicate voter registrations.” The Berks County deputy director of elections added that ACORN was under investigation by the Department of Justice.

TX 2004
ACORN turned in the voter registration form of David Young, who told reporters “The signature is not my signature. It’s not even close.” His social security number and date of birth were also incorrect.

VA 2005
In 2005, the Virginia State Board of Elections admonished Project Vote and ACORN for turning in a significant number of faulty voter registrations. An audit revealed that 83% of sampled registrations that were rejected for carrying false or questionable information were submitted by Project Vote. Many of these registrations carried social security numbers that exist for other people, listed non-existent or commercial addresses, or were for convicted felons in violation of state and federal election law.

In a letter to ACORN, the State Board of Elections reported that 56% of the voter registration applications ACORN turned in were ineligible. Further, a full 35% were not submitted in a timely manner, as required by law. The State Board of Elections also commented on what appeared to be evidence of intentional voter fraud. "Additionally,” they wrote, “information appears to have been altered on some applications where information given by the applicant in one color ink has been scratched through and re-entered in another color ink. Any alteration of a voter registration application is a Class 5 Felony in accordance with § 24.2-1009 of the Code of Virginia."

WA 2007
Three ACORN employees pleaded guilty, and four more were charged, in the worst case of voter registration fraud in Washington state history. More than 2,000 fraudulent voter registration cards were submitted by the group during a voter registration drive.

WI 2004
The district attorney’s office investigated seven voter registration applications Project Vote employees filed in the names of people who said the group never contacted them. Former Project Vote employee Robert Marquise Blakely told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he had not met with any of the people whose voter registration applications he signed, “an apparent violation of state law,” according to the paper.

Oh, I don't think I'd have any problem proving O'Bomber trained ACORN activists at all. You wouldn't have any problem finding out for yourself acoustic...except you don't want to know that.
