He already made 350+ million in campaign contributions, all managed by him. Why will he spend time in the congress that earns him $150,000 job as a senator?
Country last.

Damn you Obama.

Not sure if you are aware how expensive a campaign actually is... and how little of the money EITHER candidate will see of it.. cuz I'm pretty sure it's nothing. EITHER candidate.

What kind of point are you trying to make? Seriously?

For some reason, I feel like any kind of intelligent response where I waste all our times finding the facts and figures of your allegations would be fruitless.

Please. PLEASE. Enlighten us.

I agree that every cent of that money is accountable to Feds. Just trying to be provocative to get your attention. But then again what if his people are paid above and beyond what one would expect?

The point is he must halt his campaign and wear the hat of a senator for few days. The country needs him. The economy is in red alert.

McCain is right on this ..He halted his campaign.

He likes the lifestyle of flying in his million dollar jet from one state to the other other with a handsome young black man by his side. Why waste time in the capitol for the country.

And he has only 40+ days of paradise

There's nothing saying Obama won't be there to vote, and as the debate is schedule to start at 9:00 Eastern time, there should be no reason for a delay.

It should be "with debate," but more importantly in the context of what we've been talking about in the last few days it's ironic that you chose the word "selfish" as that's an Ayn Rand keyword, and she is 100% behind people being selfish.

Obama is a damned if he does and damned if he doesn't

if he agrees to postpone, then he's following McCain's lead like a subordinate...not showing that he's a leader

if he disagrees to postpone, then he will be accused of not caring about his country as much as McCain....he will be accused of caring too much about himself in regards to his campaign.....this has already been done to him many times

it seems like Obama is constantly in damned if he does, damned if he doesn't situations
like with Hillary Clinton....if picked her as his running mate, then people would say that he's weak after all the negative attacks that Hillary has done to him...if he doesn't pick her as his running mate, then he's viewed as being disrespecting her and being sexist......the same crap when he was running against...if he's not aggressive,he's weak...if he's aggressive, then he's sexist and/or an angry black man

if Obama shows anger, he would get seen as a typical angry black man....if Obama doesn't show anger, he would be seen as being too aloof and removed from American's problems

if Obama denounces Rev. Wright, then he can get accused of being a sell-out by blacks...if Obama embraces Rev. Wright, then he gets accused of being racist by whites

damned if he does, damned if he doesn't is Obama's story

something tells me that if Obama did the same thing as McCain, he would be accused of being coward or be accused of being so arrogant to try to act President

take for instance the crap with people criticizing Obama during his European

if it was McCain doing the same things as Obama during the overseas trip, he would be seen as being a great statesman.

a black man(in Obama's case, a half black man) cannot show any pride nor confidence without being accused of being arrogant and cocky, but it's ok for white men to do that.

that's the USA with its double standards when it comes to whites and blacks

That's my black perspective.

I think that I can give my black perspective in Global Unity more often.
I think that it's about time that people with black ancestry give their views about political, global matters.

Diversity

I wish for other people with black ancestry to give their two cents too

You know, the debate's scheduled for 9:00 Eastern time. There should be no reason whatsoever that they can't accomplish both. Obama will be at the President's meeting tomorrow.

>>>if he agrees to postpone, then he's following McCain's lead like a subordinate...not showing that he's a leader

Thats sounds plausible to me. He does not wish to be called 'Uncle Tom'. Besides what if McCain didn't suggest first and Obama had made this first call. Thats an unknown.

The debate is about foreign policy. The economic crisis has to be dealt with first. God could make the world in seven days, but its a tough ordeal for the congress to pass this 700 billion plan in seven days.

AG - you bring valid point. I too agree that selfishness is good. But not in the present circumstances and especially not for a politician whose life is meant for others. The masses could shell out average 5k each. If he cares about the masses, he could wait on the debate. He can be selfish though in making a decision to bail out or not. Congress could even be spending this weekend making a decision, i am not sure on the deadlines. Obama was very casual when he said 'call me if you need me' . Jeez what an attitude
