"Messiah" came out of the Right, and I've never considered it anything greater than a political tactic. I haven't seen anyone call Obama's followers cultists, but I bet lots of Democratic leaders have had smaller cultish followings. I don't think the 52% of independents that voted for Obama did so because their Messiah had arrived. Everyone in the astrology section that has commented on this "Messiah" idea has affirmed that they don't actually think anything of the sort. That said, inspiring followers to appear cultish doesn't necessarily mean anything. The Beatles come to mind. I agree with you that he couldn't blatently market Socialism, and that those people smart enough to understand what Socialism is would be hesitant to admit that they want Socialism. quote: But do the people want bigger government and do they want that government to step in and save them? Apparently so.
In every campaign, the government is supposed to step in and save the people. That's always what both campaigns run on. Regarding government's size, who was the last President to constrict the government's size? Clinton. Who was the last President to grow government? Bush. It's backwards from how partisans want to look at things, but that's the way it is. The biggest campaign issue? The economy. If you google, "Republicans Democrats economy," what do you get? A bunch of links suggesting that the economy is better under Democrats even when you give each President a year or two grace period. Were the 52% of independents jumping on the Socialism train? Were they hynotized by the Messiah? I don't think so. As this site (LL) shows, not a lot of people like to get involved in politics. I would theorize that they vote based on an impression. Either its an impression of a candidate, or its an impression of the outgoing administration. I'm not sure that political or economic ideology even enters into the equation. Let's look at something I've never even contemplated before, which damns the winning party regardless of which party wins. A full third of eligible voters don't vote. They simultaneously endorse and condemn BOTH candidates by not voting. Of the almost 2/3 left, just over half voted Obama's way. That means Obama got a mere third of possible voters in a concrete manner. A Socialist revolution would require that he convince the other 2/3 of the nation that didn't vote him into office. Does that help quell your fears that he's just going to mesmerize everyone in a Hitler-like fashion? I read up a little more on Rahm. Yes, it's true that he doesn't sound like Obama. Is the point that the choice of Rahm means Obama might have a Clintonian style government? Beats a Socialist revolution don't you think? quote: Evil learns from its mistakes. Evil evolves.
So does goodness. I'd rather be an optimist (though I still believe I'm a realist). IP: Logged |

I believe it was Farrakhan who first ventured into "Messiah" territory. When I think of the Right, I don't think of Farrakhan. But maybe its a matter of perspective. The Beatles?? We're comparing the President of the United States to the Beatles?! We're comparing hysterical adolescent girls on the Ed Sullivan show to a BBC reporter who says he was "so mesmerized" by Obama he found it hard to remember he was a reporter? There's optimism and then there's sticking your head in the sand. Well, I probably shouldn't say anymore. My concentration is elsewhere. Right now I'm watching MSNBC's in depth analysis of the Obama family hunt for a proper First Dog. It's mesmerizing. IP: Logged |

The first time I heard about the "Messiah" was from Republicans trying to make fun of him for being "The One." I don't follow Farrakhan, so maybe you're right.Yes, we're comparing the President with the Beatles, or at least I am. I guess you're suggesting a more nuanced mesmerization. I'll certainly keep an eye out for it. I'll also keep in mind that you believe he uses hypnotic or NLP techniques. I'm fairly familiar with NLP, and can recognize its use. I'm not sure that I've seen a lot of his speeches, so maybe I haven't had a chance to be secretly hypnotised by him. I don't think the debate structure provided good conditions for trying NLP, so people watching those for their impression of him would not have had the opportunity to be intentionally hypnotized or mesmerized. quote: There's optimism and then there's sticking your head in the sand.
The same can be true in the reverse, though. quote: Right now I'm watching MSNBC's in depth analysis of the Obama family hunt for a proper First Dog. It's mesmerizing.
Oooh, the FoxNews of the Left? I can't help but notice that a Democrat goes into office when Olbermann's ratings exceed O'Reilly's. Probably could have forecast the election winner on that alone. IP: Logged |

Eerie isn't it? “Many even see in Obama a messiah-like figure, a great soul, and some affectionately call him Mahatma Obama.”
– Dinesh Sharma “We just like to say his name. We are considering taking it as a mantra.” – Chicago] Sun-Times “A Lightworker — An Attuned Being with Powerful Luminosity and High-Vibration Integrity who will actually help usher in a New Way of Being” – Mark Morford “What Barack Obama has accomplished is the single most extraordinary event that has occurred in the 232 years of the nation’s political history” – Jesse Jackson, Jr. “This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.” – Barack Obama “Does it not feel as if some special hand is guiding Obama on his journey, I mean, as he has said, the utter improbability of it all?” – Daily Kos “He communicates God-like energy…” – Steve Davis (Charleston, SC) “Not just an ordinary human being but indeed an Advanced Soul” – Commentator @ Chicago Sun Times “I’ll do whatever he says to do. I’ll collect paper cups off the ground to make his pathway clear.” – Halle Berry “A quantum leap in American consciousness” – Deepak Chopra “He is not operating on the same plane as ordinary politicians. . . . the agent of transformation in an age of revolution, as a figure uniquely qualified to open the door to the 21st century.” – Gary Hart “Barack Obama is our collective representation of our purest hopes, our highest visions and our deepest knowings . . . He’s our product out of the all-knowing quantum field of intelligence.” – Eve Konstantine “This is bigger than Kennedy. . . . This is the New Testament.” | “I felt this thrill going up my leg. I mean, I don’t have that too often. No, seriously. It’s a dramatic event.” – Chris Matthews “[Obama is ] creative imagination which coupled with brilliance equals wisdom . . . [He is] the man for this time.” – Toni Morrison “Obama’s finest speeches do not excite. They do not inform. They don’t even really inspire. They elevate. . . . He is not the Word made flesh, but the triumph of word over flesh . . . Obama is, at his best, able to call us back to our highest selves.” – Ezra Klein “Obama has the capacity to summon heroic forces from the spiritual depths of ordinary citizens and to unleash therefrom a symphonic chorus of unique creative acts whose common purpose is to tame the soul and alleviate the great challenges facing mankind.” – Gerald Campbell “We’re here to evolve to a higher plane . . . he is an evolved leader . . . [he] has an ear for eloquence and a Tongue dipped in the Unvarnished Truth.” – Oprah Winfrey “I would characterize the Senate race as being a race where Obama was, let’s say, blessed and highly favored. That’s not routine. There’s something else going on. I think that Obama, his election to the Senate, was divinely ordered. . . . I know that that was God’s plan.” – Bill Rush quote:
And then there’s the Gospel according to Obama himself. In January, he told Dartmouth students that they will know to vote for him because “… a light will shine through that window, a beam of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany, and you will suddenly realize that you must go to the polls and vote for Barack.”When asked in an interview what sin is, Obama defined it as “Being out of alignment with my values.” Apparently, the editor failed to capitalize the “M” in “My.”
And not a hair stood on my body everytime he spoke. He is a brainwashed idiot and a "mutt" -- so rightly judged by himself in his own words. And this music video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PDehlPWsdQ

WTF?: Lets Euthanize them now that Obama has won and Obama saying those people are irritating.Their state is same as conservatives in this country who have an identity crisis. Being cynical here for drawing an insane parallel but it is true. But Obama is not the messiah. How could he be? OK stopping for now...........no time to pen down thoughts. Lets give Obama a chance. Now that his 12house visitor has come to teach him to heal his hatred for America and his skin color. And a 8th house visitor comes to transform him on Jan 20th. Give death to his old disgusting self and humble him. I am being optimistic LOL. I hope it is not a death threat. I did not check his moon transits, because that is the most important while determining if a person will die. Cheers.

Another of the first pops as far as the quote goes showed up from wnd.com. It continues the speech(?) from the preceding clip. quote: "Brothers and sisters," Farrakhan said, "Barack Obama to me, is a herald of the Messiah. Barack Obama is like the trumpet that alerts you something new, something better is on the way."Farrakhan points out that the man Nation of Islam followers refer to as "the Savior," Fard Muhammad, had a black father and a white mother, just as Obama did. "A black man with a white mother became a savior to us," he said. "A black man with a white mother could turn out to be one who can lift America from her fall. "Would God allow Barack to be president of a country that has been so racist, so evil in its treatment of Hispanics, native Americans, blacks?" he asked. "Would God do something like that? Yeah. Of course he would. That's to show you that the stone that the builders rejected has become the headstone of the corner. This is a sign to you. It's the time of our rise. It's the time that we should take our place. The future is all about you."
link Not an accepted source here but at least it gives a bigger view of what was said ... ie, not that Obama is the Messiah but a Herald of the Messiah. Which, to many, is just as frightening a statement especially as it is more in keeping with the various circling theories (not necessarily any Obama-centric theories, I might add) regarding the AC.

Yep - yep ... he is a herald not the messiah.i said it in the thread on Revelations- he will try to tap into your subconsciousness, only the wise will meet the messiah in their own soul. It is also quite possible that Obama's passions (8th house mars) paves the way for his destruction in the end.

Ahh I see! Thank you, Eleeanore. Say whay you will about him, but that Farrakhan's no dummy. For once I've got to agree with the old nut. I don't think Obama's the Big Guy either. Doing a fantastic prep job though. I bet Bush will be jealous. AG - yes, bless you, you were playing along nicely. I think you should look for that frame of reference.
as a general aside ... and take it for what it's worth, of course, but, according to wiser folks than myself, John was born 6 months before Jesus.

>>>this man is much more angry than most have guessed. yep he is.
quote: The 2008 presidential election in America is the most crucial election in this country's history, not because the issues are that critical but because of Senator Barack Hussein Obama. Sen. Obama likely suffers from narcissistic personality disorder (NPD). NPD is a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration, and a lack of empathy. The following are some of the symptoms of NPD that can be seen in Sen. Obama. He subtly misrepresents facts, opportunistically shifts positions, ignores data that conflicts with his fantasy world, is overly confident and acts presidential despite commensurate merits and his modest life achievements, considers himself above the law, talks about himself in third person, has messianic vision of himself and his “mission”, displays false modesty while often evincing haughtiness, sublimates aggression and behaves as eternal adolescents. [Please see this article. http://www.faithfreedom.org/obama.html ] NPD is the prime disorder experienced by madmen of history -- from Hitler to Stalin, Mao, Kim, Osama, Khomeini, Saddam and Idi Amin. These men wreaked havoc and killed millions. Yet, they were confident they were right in what they were doing. Few suspected their insanity because narcissists are often intelligent and cunning. When World War II ended and its horrors became known, the world said, “Never Again.” “Never Again” can only work if we choose our leaders wisely. Once a madman is in power it is already too late. Nothing can stop a mad leader except death or war. It is time we people of the world demand that those who aspire to become heads of any country, particularly of the USA, submit to rigorous mental check ups. Millions of lives depend on the sanity of these leaders. If the physical health of presidential candidates is important, how much more important is their mental health? Therefore, we the people, urge the lawmakers of all democratic countries and particularly the U.S. Congress to raise the issue and make this requirement into a law. It makes no sense that pilots should be required to submit to a psychiatric evaluation for operating commercial aircraft while no such test is needed to run a country. A narcissist in the White House would spell disaster for mankind.
http://www.petitiononline.com/obamapet/petition.html the 12th house is release for all negatives often unplanned and a jupiter visits him. that could be positive or negative. i just can't say much right now as its too early. will give the subconsious universe a chance to see what manifests thru him. will he heal or will he rule by tyranny. Lets be fair and give him a chance. first 180 days in office will show much of what is to come in 4 years.

Oh no maitreya will not chose the body of a narcissist and an arrogant politician. It needs someone humble, mellow, free of faults (remember Nathaniel whom Jesus calls?) and someone spiritually strong able to contain his light. Obama definitely is not ready to hold that light. But may be I am wrong because who knows all that tough years with drugs and feeling a mutt has made him stronger. and also remember he has an aqua ascendant. may he genuinely wills to serve the people but has bad ideas on how to do that (like Solensky's socialism and Marx's distribute the wealth). He was brainwashed by his spiritual mentor Wright for 20 years. Matreya will have to undo his teachings. And it is impossible considering he is already active in fixing problems of this country. Where is the time to experiment with spirituality ?

Following your prediction tink, perhaps this message would be the topic? Share International, Maitreya.
A time of accounting by Rev. Howard Ray Carey Again in Message No. 97: ‘‘Join My Army, My friends and brothers, and cleanse the world of hate. Sharpen the Sword of Love, My brothers, close your ranks around Me, and valiantly together into the future let us march.’’
Thus this ‘now’ is a time of accounting ---- not only for our stewardship up to the present, but also a strong challenge to render a worthy accounting of the kind of service we are willing to offer now. How can we hold back from His appeal to us in this passage? ‘‘My arms are held towards you My friends, asking for your trust, appealing for your help in remaking the world. Many are the tasks which lie ahead, many are the blows which must be struck for Freedom and Truth. I need all those in whom that truth shines to follow Me and help Me in My work.'' Mannu, I don't believe we'll be meeting (on this plane anyway) the true Maitreya Buddha for another thousand years or two. But claiments are coming. Will they use a politician's body? I agree with you that they will not. Probably safe to say the False Maitreya will be a religious leader. I wouldn't look for him in America either. Just for kicks .... I don't think the Buddha Maitreya, false or otherwise, is the same being as the Christ or the Imam Mahdi or Krishna. Obviously, the Imam Mahdi and Christ are not the same being, although I believe Christ and Krishna are. Also, I don't believe the Christ will incarnate physically again ... which makes certain decisions real easy. Phew! It's common - and understandably so, I suppose - for people to dismiss the traditional religious paths in favor of a more New Age, ultra liberal, generically spiritual path. But when things get dicey, a classic religious education can spare us a whole lot of stress and confusion. http://share-international.org/maitreya/Ma_main.htm Gosh, should we move this to UC or DD?
