I know it depends on the state you are in.NJ/NY is badly hit. Should I buy or wait some more? Isn't winter the best time to buy? Appreciate your comments. IP: Logged |

Everyone is throwing away freebies. I wish the builder does too. http://www.marriott.com/marriott.mi?page=mhrfreebreakfast IP: Logged |

I am glad I didn't buy it yet. This report made me think. Perhaps it will be end of the year before it bounces back up. http://www.forbes.com/2009/01/07/housing-cities-realestate-forbeslife-cx_do _0107realestateweak.html IP: Logged |

I think JWhop is in a better postion - though its sad here in SJ - rents have gone up though real estate is suffering - the ones who cant afford to keep their home sare driving up the rent IP: Logged |

so is the purpose of buying now when prices are low just to resell when "it bounces back up"? or to get in while the price is realistic?it's speculation on real estate that has caused the worst part of the current recession. it's the people counting on it "bouncing up" who have inflated the market out of all realistic bounds. i am not sure but i saw in fla today that 300,000 dollar homes are being sold for 50,000, great time to buy a retirement property if a person can. with the market the way it is, if i would be comfortable with 2 mortgages, i would buy my retirement home now. i really dont think the market will turn around anytime real soon.IP: Logged |

My friend bought one with a nice pool for that amount. Appears, liquid cash is precious in these times. Even new homeowners in NJ are thinking twice before willing to pay 10 percent down ...10 percent of lets say 400k home is lot of money really. This is a great and simple video that explains whats going on. http://www.crisisofcredit.com/
