April 15, be part of the Taxed Enough Already (TEA) party rally in your community
On the day you pay your taxes, Wednesday, April 15, join others across the country and in your hometown who will be participating in TAX Day TEA party rallies in front of their city halls. The TAX Day TEA party rally will begin at 12 noon. See this video - the momentum is growing!

Are you fed up with a Congress and a president who:

vote for a $500 billion tax bill without even reading it?

are spending trillions of borrowed dollars, leaving a debt our great-grandchildren will be paying?
consistently give special interest groups billions of dollars in earmarks to help get themselves re-elected?
want to take your wealth and redistribute it to others?
punish those who practice responsible financial behavior and reward those who do not?
admit to using the financial hurt of millions as an opportunity to push their political agenda?
run up trillions of dollars of debt and then sell that debt to countries such as China?
want government controlled health care?
want to take away the right to vote with a secret ballot in union elections?
refuse to stop the flow of millions of illegal immigrants into our country?
appoint a defender of child pornography to the Number 2 position in the Justice Department?
want to force doctors and other medical workers to perform abortions against their will?
want to impose a carbon tax on your electricity, gas and home heating fuels?
want to reduce your tax deductibility for charitable gifts?
take money from your family budget to pay for their federal budget?
If so, participate in the TAX Day TEA party rally, the Taxed Enough Already (TEA) party.

duncecap for jwhops..what kind of political discussion can this be without including WTF is really going on in america. jesus h. crimeny jwhops, can't a troll get a decent debate to watch?

this is huge and the news stations are obviously oblivious to any real stories, as president teleprompters goddam dog is getting more coverage.

this is BIG stuff and i have seen comments that arent really so peaceful sounding fora peaceful protest, such as, and i am quotiing,
every revolution starts with a first shot" prepare for july 4th, and other assorted type comments.

we have talked about socail unrest lately, but i don't think we had any idea the extent of the discontent.

add mars uranus conjunction.

NOBODY on here has an opinion? Make me come out of hiding for this!

funny thing, i doubt my silent followers are much looking for me in this particular forum...and besides that, screw em if they are. this is big stuff.and yet, nothing much on the news, I betcha it will be tommorow, unless of course they actually don't really report real news anymore.

happy puppy dog days.

2010 cities sighned up with organized demonstrations. yes, 2010 cities acroos america and ACORN just decided they might have there own obama parade on the same day, how coinkidinkal.

How much is 1 trillion dollars?

A stack of one trillion one-dollar bills would reach 68,000 miles in space. If you spent $1 million dollars a day from the day Jesus was born until now, you would only have spent about three quarters of a trillion.

If you laid one trillion one-dollar bills end to end, it would make a chain from the earth to the moon 200 times. One trillion dollars would stretch nearly from the earth to the sun. It would take a jet flying at the speed of sound, reeling out a roll of dollar bills behind it, four years before it reeled out one trillion dollar bills. A million seconds is 11.5 days. A billion seconds is 32 years. A trillion seconds is 32,000 years.

Record Spending In The Budget: The budget increases spending to $3.9 trillion in 2009, or 27% of GDP – the highest level since World War II. This is simply too much spending and will lead to higher taxes, slower economic growth, and fewer jobs for middle class families.

Historically High Deficits For The Next Ten Years: the budget promises historically high deficits stretching out until 2019, when the budget deficit will stand at $712 billion.

A Record Deficit In 2009: The budget would produce a $1.75 trillion deficit, or 12.3percent of GDP, in 2009. This deficit level is more than three times the previous record deficit.

$24 Billion Spent A Day: Over the first fifty days of the new Administration, approximately $24 billon has been spent a day, most of it with borrowed money.

Doubling The National Debt Over The Next Eight Years: The budget doubles the national debt over the next eight years.

Trillion Dollar Increase In Entitlement Spending: The budget includes a $1 trillion increase in entitlement spending over ten years. The budget dramatically increases entitlement spending while doing very little to improve the budget impact of existing entitlement programs.

Increasing Your Families' Share Of The Debt: The current debt per capita exceeds $35,000. The budget would double the national debt in only eight years, thus ballooning your share to approximately $70,000.

Growing The Debt At Record Pace: During the last eight years, the debt rose by $4.9 trillion. The proposed budget will exceed that within three years.

Skyrocketing Net Interest Payments: Beginning in 2012, and every year thereafter, the government will spend more than $1 billion a day in net interest. By 2019, the government will spend $1.7 billion per day on net interest.

The Largest Tax Increase In American History: The budget will raise taxes by $1.4 trillion over the next ten years.

Harming Small Businesses: The budget will raises income taxes harming the many small businesses that pay taxes at the top two individual rates. According to the National Association of Manufacturers, 68 percent of American manufacturers pay taxes at the individual income tax rate and most of them will see their taxes increase.

Higher Energy Prices: The budget will lead to higher energy prices and a tax for every American who uses energy. The cap-and-trade proposal represents a new national climate tax that will cost every household up to $3,128 annually in higher costs for natural gas, electricity, home heating oil and gasoline.

Hurting Charitable Giving: The budget will put a new tax on charitable giving that could cost American charities as much as $16 billion a year. This will harm numerous organizations at a time when many of these groups are now struggling with the economic downturn.

Harming The Housing Market: The budget will harm the housing market by limiting the mortgage interest deduction and making it more expensive to purchase or afford a new home. As the National Association of Realtors reports, lowering this deduction will impact all home prices and values for all Americans.

Bringing The Death Tax Back: The budget brings back the estate tax – currently scheduled to be repealed next year – re-imposing a heavy tax burden on small businesses and family farms.

Taxing Charitable Contributions Will Deter Giving: Included in the tax increase is a cap on itemized deductions for charitable giving. By putting a new tax on charitable giving, the budget could cost American charities as much as $16 billion a year.

Increasing Taxes On Charitable Giving Comes At A Time When Millions Of Charities Are Struggling With The Economic Downturn: Many charities are now struggling with the economic downturn. Taxing charitable giving will only make it worse for these organizations and would cause many to shut down. Charities depend on donations – by lessening the deduction the public is discourage from giving.

The Largest Tax Increase in American History: The budget will raise taxes by $1.4 trillion over the next ten years. The cap-and-trade proposal is expected to raise at least $646 billion alone.

A Tax Increase On Families Of More Than $3,000 A Year In Higher Energy Prices: The cap-and trade proposal in the budget will lead to higher energy prices and a tax for every American who uses energy. The cap-and-trade proposal represents a new national climate tax that will cost every household up to $3,128 annually in higher costs for natural gas, electricity, home heating oil and gasoline.

Tax Burden Would Hit Lower-Income And Middle-Income Families The Hardest: The cap-and trade tax is highly regressive, impacting most the lower-income and middle-income families who spend a greater portion of their monthly income on energy than higher income earners.

Potential To Destroy Anywhere From 1.8 Million To 7 Million Jobs*: National Association of Manufacturers estimated a net job loss of 3 to 4 million; the Heritage Foundation estimated job losses between 1.8 and 5.3 million; and Charles Rivers Associates estimated job losses as high as 7 million

Stifling Economic Growth*: The Environmental Protection Agency estimated a decline in GDP of $238 billion (0.9%) to $983 billion (3.8%) in 2030 and $1,012 billion (2.4%) to $2,856 billion (6.9%) in 2050. The Heritage Foundation estimated a decline in GDP of $1.5 to $4.8 trillion.

Higher Energy Costs*: The Environmental Protection Agency estimated a rise in electricity costs of between 44% and 79%. The National Association of Manufacturers estimated an increase of between 101% and 129%

***add to this the fact that the bailed out banks are using our money to redifine our higher interest rates***

americans are p!ssed. left, right, loose and tight. this is across the board ticked off.

and not a news story one. i have 300 flipping channels on my satellite and not a whisper.

puppy dogs must really be what the good people of america want to know about, right?

should my paycheck be signed by president teleprompter with the happy dog?

i am starting to think so. after all, i work for the big government...we all do... correct?

Hello sun_shine

Am I being berated for the "in the bag for O'Bomber" main stream press failures to cover the "tea party" stories? Or...were you measuring someone else for that "dunce cap"?

I posted these threads dealing with "tea parties" and there were a few comments. One along the lines no one voted for O'Bomber to raise their taxes. Of course, this poster doesn't seem to remember I told everyone when it was candidate O'Bomber and not President O'Bomber that was exactly what O'Bomber would do because it's what Socialists always do and in the process of that and other Socialist nonsense manage to destroy every economy over which they get control. Socialists are liars and O'Bomber is no exception.

The good news about these "tea parties" is that they're more or less non-partisan. Lots of Democrats and Independents are waking up to the fact the US government is out of control and needs to be reined in.
http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum16/HTML/004910.html

http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum16/HTML/004886.html

Now, we have the Department of Homeland Security attempting to cast "tea party" goers organizing against O'Bomber's tax and spend, bailouts and give-away trillions nonsense as "tax protesters" and potential militia members or recruits. Not only them but also returning military service personnel, voters and supporters of Ron Paul, Bob Barr and other potential 3 party candidates.

Janet Napolitano should be summarily fired...not permitted to resign..as should all the Homeland Security personnel who worked on the piece of trash she saw fit to distribute to law enforcement across the United States.

In a few words sun-shine...the "in the bag for O'Bomber MSM" aren't giving much if any coverage to the "tea parties" because it makes O'Bomber and his policies look bad to have people from all walks of life and non activists at that opposing O'Bomber's gigantic expansion of government and US debt they know they and their children are going to have to pay for.

this goes back before obama, loves; of course when it was just a bunch of muslims being targetted, who cares? but "real" americans?

what's that old saw about "when they made the jews move into the ghetto, it was nothing to do with me, so i said nothing....yadayada...and when they came for me - there was no one left to speak up"

like i keep saying people voted for who obama said he was and that is a GOOD THING. because now they're mad and its a lot harder to ignore when your down home yanks get out in the street.

too bad it has to wait until the problem is all about taxes and bankers. its been "time" for a long time. i for one have requested my local "progressive" radio to cover this stuff...

Can i join this tea party?

Gee, I wish more Texans joins us.
Perhaps, if they go separate , this country will wake up.

My mouth is itching to blow the war horn.

I am sick of DC -- sitting on seven hills led by a beast with 10 fully developed horns.

Obama is giving in to his admin. And they are cashing in on their 4 year power. Corruption! Corruption! Corruption!

Over 700 parties planned so far.

And if you look at the where the parties will take place, it's not really a red vs blue issue. Can't forget just how many liberals make up the truly wealthy in the US ... and many of them aren't happy, either.

Haven't yet found one going on over here but I'll be there in spirit.

i understand anyone with a ron paul bumper sticker will be under suspicion for extremest. I also heard on the news this morning that there are over 900 "hate" groups now. i think anyone who isn't on board with this new plan must be considered a threat. probobly the first church of the nazarene next.

i also understand the minutemen will be protesting with the tea parties in the bay area and there are fliers out stating, lets show these guys how welcome they are here, lets f their s up. seriously, i saw the flier. i would avoid the whole area as i expect rioting is possible.

add ACORN to the mix and this will take a racial turn in about five seconds flat.

as kat said, even obama supporters are flabbergasted. i know i am. this is one time i should have listend to jwhops and just sat out the vote.

THIS is history being made folks, i suppose military personnel will be placed strategially. that always really helps matters. especially since we pay thier salaries too. i just wrote irs a check this morning, as did many others. i sure wish there was an easier answer, i have a feeling this is going to get very ugly very quickly.

the land of the free is about to become something totally different. lady liberty is shedding a tear.

as much as i don't want to blame it all on obama, he certainly is showing an agenda.

sunshine you should have a look at LTT's latest post (this forum) about a man called FREEMAN john harris. he is stirring up a peaceful revolution in england based on the law of the land. which says that as long as you HARM NO ONE you cannot be required to obey any statute which does not represent you. sound familiar?

the point is made in one of those clips, talking about the demos in the City on April 1st, that any violence just plays into the hands of the powers who will use any excuse to injure and discredit those who disagree.

this is not a national problem and it is not authored by obama. he is just the man in the seat NOW.

the fact that jwhop can say something like "all socialists are liars" is a red flag. this is a statement of bigotry. all socialists are individuals, just as republicans are. if i were to say all republicans are murderers does that make it true? or even "all republicans pick their butts and eat it"...you catch my drift.

we have got to find a way within the law of the land to denounce the way the system has been sewn up. praising bush and slagging off obama is besides the point. as is the mirror, praising obama and slagging off bush.

NOT paying taxes would be a great way of putting our collective feet down. but we are so divided we can't trust each other to do something like that right now. or can we?

of course everybody getting together and sharing the work of running the country would be labelled by some as "socialist" and therefore unpalatable.

i have been asking and i still am asking "what are we going to do about it?" who are you going to vote for? what is fair to everyone? imagine calling ron paul OR his followers a terrorist.

but this is what i have been saying all along too. the patriot act has made it possible for ANYONE to be called a terrorist. the fact that bush didn't personally arrest any of these people doesn't mean it's not happening. and the fact that the target groups look different now is basically because the enforcement agencies are by definition there to assess any threat to the order IN POWER. right now that is perceived to be "rightwingers" - a few months ago it was "leftwingers". what is wrong with this picture?

you have very valid points kat. very much so.

i don't know that not paying income tax is the answer, but then again i don't know the answer.

of course violence is no way to ever make a point. i do not condone violence by anyone at anytime. i just see what is going on and now watching with both eyes open as it usually pays toat least know what is going on, although to be proactive is always better in any situation.

interesting times we live in.

jwhop has been talking about the CONSTITUTION all along. this is one place where i agree with him...i have a friend back east whose father's family arrived on the plymouth and whose mom was a blackfoot indian. he has never filed a tax return and stands by his constitutional rights in all cases. (tax is deducted from his wages) but he has also never used a bank!

i think it is probably wise to study the constitution to the point where we are familiar with it and cannot be misled as to what is in it. it is a legal spine to fall back on in completely peaceful boycottt of any unconstitutional goings on. just a starting point, which is how this FREEMAN character in england defends his right to his rights...

are you saying we have a right not to file state or federal income tax?

wont they just make a determination with a higher amount oweing and garnish your wages?

you are definately right, we or i, should be better versed in our constitutional rights.

interesting view on it, i only changed one word...this might be at least one alternative answer....

Its not really "Obowmas" fault. He is just one of many presidents controlled by the FEDERAL RESERVE (not a government institution for those who dont know) Google the Federal reserve.
What we need to do to give freedom back to this country is to disolve the federal reserve, impound thier holdings and assets. then impeach every senator and congressman who voted for the bailouts. Who did we bailout? The bankers. Who caused this financial crisis? The bankers. Who owes them the money now? The government (AKA We the People)
So lets see if I understand this right. The banks lend out trillions of dollars to the people for real estate, mergers and small business. they make tons of interest. when the people can no longer support the debt they get thier property back , the companies back and then the governement has to pay them back full market ( inflated) value. They now own the property for half its value. The governement will collect the money from us for them. Anyone see a conspiracy here.
Its not the politicians or the parties people. Its the FEDERAL Reserve. The parties were created to keep the people at each others throats for unimprtant things so they could go about raping and pillaging the people without drawing the atention to themselves.
Amazing how much outrage was expressed by congressman and senators over the AIG bonuses but not much said about giving $3.6 Trillion dollars to The bankers who caused these problems to begin with. wake Up America Disolve the FED, Get us out of the U.N, the IMF and all the other world bodies. Impeach all our congreemen and senators who voted for the bailout, Get rid of the president and lets begin again. return the power to the people. Don't allow the Bankers to profit off our backs any longer. No corporate money donated to future candidates. Wake up and stop fighting each other thats what they want. Go after the root of the problem

enjoyed reading that Sunshine.
When we first heard that the largest holder [profiteer] of toxic mortgages, turned around and bought them back up for pennies [Countrywide co.] and is still profiting....it is unspeakable, and my potty mouth goes wild.
But we the people are now the largest holder. So much for that word transparency that keeps getting tossed around.

Deport every single person who is in the United States illegally. That includes those who have overstayed their visas or who are not doing the thing they were granted a visa to pursue in the US.

It is sheer bullshiiit there are some in the US...like La Raza, which means...The Race via The Reconquista Movement, who are attempting to return the American Southwest to Mexico. Not going to happen.

According to their nonsense, the US should return the Louisiana Purchase to France. Oh, and also the states of South Carolina and Florida to Spain. What nonsense.

The American Southwest was PURCHASED from Mexico under the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo and the Gadsden Purchase.

All those who are attempting to wrest control over any part of the US and turn it over to another nation...or set up an independent state should be arrested, prosecuted, convicted and punished for treason against the United States...or deported back to where ever they came from.

Dividing up the US and parceling it out to other nations has long been the wet dream of leftists. In fact, anything at all which diminishes the power...financial, political or military..of the United States is a wet dream goal of leftists.

That's also the wet dream of the Marxist Socialist O'Bomber...and his principle backer, the insane Marxist Socialist George Soros.

well then lambchop, i guess i'm bound for ireland, since my greatgreat grandmother stowed away in a cargo boat at age 10 to come here, survived new york in the 1850s and went on to raise 7 hardworking cheap labour irish-americans - who by the way all earned citizenship by being born here...like a lot of the children of our current crop of illegal immigrants who are considered along with their parents...

anyway i think this belongs on the "immigrant" thread...

as to the right not to file that is debatable. many believe that the amendment establishing income tax and the irs was illegally pushed through the ratification stage and is at best unconstitutional...

but the constitution has the ability to change (amend) written into it and none of us was there at that ratification so PROVING it is hard work. many have tried to fight the "requirement to file" and the most public ones are mostly in jail...

however people like my friend who allow witholding (and he claims the irs owe HIM, not vice versa) but don't file are rarely prosecuted because even though the law says its about filing not paying, the paying is what usually makes the difference! all about the money again.

jhwop has mentioned the original import of the tax code as being aimed at corporate profits not individuals, but that is a claim that has been thrown out of the courts more than once.

so it's a hard row to hoe.

my mistake, you did not say "all", you said:
"Socialists are liars and O'Bomber is no exception" as if there ARE no exceptions. just scroll up the page.

kind of like me saying "people who live in florida are lazy good-for-nothings"..the "all" is implied, isn't it?
