jwhop set you straight Kat... Sorry but you are wrong...

Now.. two more cases in Kansas for the "flu". This was my past field... being an epidemioligist on a border county.... I see the path- meaning... where the illegals enter and disperse. It's picking season in the states (fruit / veggies) and we will see more outbreaks following where the migration goes...

Mexico can't handle these issues.. they never could..

When I worked on the binational bioterrorism team, Mexico was more worried about the money and equipment we could give them and they told us point blank "if you have a disease on your side.. you give us money and don't expect anything back... we will shut down our borders"

We on the border were never afraid of Mexico shutting down borders because of us... WE worried about open borders with Mexico during an outbreak.

Now look... Janet (let me screw AZ) Napalitano is not doing crap in this crisis... we will have more issues.. it is already testing positive in Kansas and NYC...

I guess we will wait to see what happens.. at least for me.. I am in a Military community so I will get the vaccine first.. but I also know if I was still in AZ I would get the call...because I wrote the dispense protocol....

good point about the hog flu pid.

if we travel LEGALLY to other countries we are vaccinated as not to get or bring back to our golden shores whatever outbreak of disease they have.

if our borders don't exist it's like you can't lysol the pandominic stuff they have and then we all have to wear masks too.

legally, yes. illegally, sorry muchacho gotta stay out.

i am sorry kat, may i suggest boss lady as a new username? or something similarly authoritve sounding?

i do agree that in theory if we were selling they could be buying. thats all good. if we aren't selling, well, you can't buy what isn't for sale.

yes i agree hemp should be legalized and taxed in all forms and also used for alternative natural resources.

there is nothing you said that i disagreed with.

did you know in the dearborn michigan post office stuff is worte in arabic as well as english. i do think we are far too accomodating, and have seen with my own eyes many that don't comply with our laws nor embrace our culture. they sneer while they are here. i could smack the **** right out of them. who knows if they are legal or not.

now i will probobly get the flower truck in front of my house again with the hench men, i have an opinion, therefore i must be a threat.

my mars is in libra, i see both sides of most stuff and vote a mixed ticket. my leo and virgo stellum makes me like it in here anyway. although i do get upset over taxes, immigration and rights infringement.

detroit is the highest unsolved murder capital of the us, and they spend there time raiding craigslist ho's and seizing cars for a victimless crime. the last mayor was laughable and actually politics is just interesting. 70 is speed limit not an iq range for elected officials.

1) Where would Mexico get the money to buy back the land if we ever did go crazy enough to want to sell it to them? Do you realize how many years of inflation we're talking about?

2) They don't actually want the land itself. What they want is all the benefits that come from being a US citizen nevermind that they broke various laws to get here. And the Mexican people never have been, even before we bought up the land, US citizens.

If we stripped the land of all its useful manmade things and moved all US citizens, and consequently businesses and $$$$, out of there ... and they weren't actually made Americans but just got the soil itself back ... ask around and see for yourself how many would actually still want that land. The land itself doesn't provide free healthcare or education or food or housing or anything else to them at the expense of others.

....

Seriously, the Mexican government has been a gargantuan failure over the decades. The land in Mexico itself is actually quite rich and fertile in many places. They have miles and miles of ideal coastlines and many natural wonders and old historical sites that should be thriving as travel destinations. They do have the resources to thrive. But the government just doesn't give a crap and hasn't for as long as I can think back.

Their government is or at least has been disgustingly corrupt for so long. While the farmers starve trying to sell their crops for pennies, cops join up with the drug trade. While the "old money" families canoodle with government officials and send their kids to private schools, many young girls find themselves in the sex trade just to survive. Racism isn't an historically "American only" problem and for years the "white" or more Spanish of the people practically reigned over the "native" or less mixed blood people.

The history of Mexico itself is so complicated and their struggles so appalling ... and I am not the least bit surprised that their government would point the finger at us for their own failures.

No. These immigrants and more specifically first and second generation Americans, like those who support La Raza, find it very convenient to ignore the failings of the Mexican government and instead blame the US for everything. But the truth is that people coming to the US from south of our border are fleeing from the horrors their own governments have perpetuated ... and it's been happening for years. The same can be said of the Cuban community in South Florida. Those who lived through the terror of Castro's revolution, who were innocently jailed and who barely escaped with their lives, have a much different view of Cuba than their kids and grandkids who have no real experience with the regime themselves. And the blame is tossed everywhere but where it belongs, on the governments of those countries.

I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT MEXICO BUYING BACK THE SOUTHWEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i AM talking about the COMBINED POWERS' rumoured plans for a union of the americas. or the alternate paranoia of various world powers carving up the states into parcels going to russia, mexico, china and wherever.

I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT US AGREEING TO ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i AM talking about how the mexicans of the day had NO SAY in who "owned" them and their territory. and the fact that it could just as easily go the other way.

my QUESTION was WOULD THAT BE ALL RIGHT WITH YOU IF IT WAS DONE TO US? and if not, why was it all right for OUR government to pay THEIR government to hand over the land they considered home?

can ANYONE see there are two sides to every story?? apparently cpn winner can, anyone else??

" What sort of country sends a dozen police officers to haul innocent sleeping children out of their beds; gives them just a few minutes to pack what belongings they can grab; pushes them into stinking caged vans; drives them for hours while refusing them the chance to go to the lavatory so that they wet themselves and locks them up sometimes for weeks or months without the prospect of release and without adequate health services? "

If they had no say in who "owned" them and the land, what say do they have in having "owned" that land in the first place?

What EVIDENCE exists that anyone here OWNED ... as in obtained legal rights to ... any of that land? What documented, verifiable proof exists? THEY MIGRATED HERE FROM ASIA. WHAT GAVE THEM THE RIGHT TO TAKE THAT LAND AS THEIR OWN AND TO FIGHT AND KILL OTHERS THAT ALSO CAME HERE FOR THAT LAND? IF NO ONE HAS THAT RIGHT THEN NO ONE HAS IT.

Your questions have no basis in reality. Our system (and I mean the "modern" world, not America alone) did not exist back then the way it does now. And I alluded to that in a previous post. If anyone wants that argument to fly for the US then they must take a fine toothed comb to all the modern countries and their bloody battle histories and see who really ever "owned" any land at all. It is an absurd, illogical and impractical argument.

The problems Mexicans face today have much less (if anything) to do with that history than they do with THEIR GOVERNMENT IN RECENT HISTORY.

And, again, their problem (based on that theory) would be not with the US but with Spain. They cannot claim our land as theirs seeing as we purchased it UNLESS they first go through the trouble of taking on Spain for having fought and conquered them for it. You're talking about Spain not having the right to sell it to us. That is NOT the same as us not having the right to buy it. Please, let them take that nebulous argument to Spain where it belongs. But I guess crossing over to Spain isn't quite as convenient.

And, frankly, this theorizing is useless. They don't want the damned land back. And that is MY POINT about the LAND. IT IS MEANINGLESS TO THESE PEOPLE WITHOUT ALL THE BENEFITS THAT COME FROM BEING US CITIZENS. They have never been US citizens. We didn't buy our Constitution from them or anything else that makes the USA the country that it is.

What's next? I'm foreseeing a Viking rights group ...

thanks eleanore. i appreciate your intelligent answer. it covers only half my question though, which is probably why you think i am "sticking up" for them. not my intent at all. i was wondering what people think we could do to prevent OUR government selling US out. this is NOT an impossibility as far as i can tell, though at present it admittedly smacks of the fantastic...

since i am getting nowhere with this train of thought i will just leave it at that. if you guys choose to think i am pleading the mexican case it seems nothing i say will change your minds. so there isn't much point in my coming here really is there?

happy dragon's post points out the disgusting treatment of human beings who are considered only as intruders and not as people like you and me.

the fact that it is happening in england doesn't mean it can't or doesn't happen here. it has nothing to do with "viking rights" or even who is right and who is wrong.

wow, usually i am the one not getting it.

i guess it is possible.
our land could be sold. divided. what not. historically speaking, it has happened. not with us, but it has happened. we give you alaska for 34 billion dollars and cut our debt by x percent.

seems like it would be a republican in office if and when that happens, for the betterment of our fiscal portfolio which is now in the pits of hell. i imagine if and when it happens it will be packaged pretty, most will be convinced it is the only way, and i would then be canadian i guess.

this isn't as much about immigration as possible ways to decrease our debt. at least that is how it will be pitched.
