Now some would say $100,000,000 would be easy to cut out of a 4 TRILLION DOLLAR budget. Not me though.

Let's see. O'Bomber is going to save money by purchasing office supplies for the entire federal government...in bulk...instead of letting far flung offices go to Staples or Office Depot to buy what they need.

That means a huge new warehouse to store all those bulk purchases. About 100 new forklifts, 300 new federal employees to pick orders...receiving and shipping, 100 office workers to process orders, an office manager, asst mgr and of course a new Czar and staff to oversee the operation. Not to be forgotten are vehicles for staff....and shipping costs to ship those office supplies to remote federal offices across the US.

Hmmm, should be able to do all that with a start up cost of...say $500,000,000; a savings of ($400,000,000).

I can see where this could lead to some "serious savings".

Think I would start somewhere else...like doing away Mil-Spec purchasing for everything not related to military equipment. Do federal buildings really need $500 per copy toilet seats...able to withstand a nuclear blast? Do we really need $600 per copy hammers capable of being run over by an M1A tank and still then able to drive a nail.

I wouldn't want to say that saving one quarter of one percent of the federal budget by conference calling and bulk purchasing is chickenfeed and not to be confused with a serious effort to cut costs.

Oh wait, yes I would. I would be buying $8 hammers and $10 toilet seats...and serving beef from the local butcher at those Wed evening dinner parties...instead of $100 Kobe beef.

But then, I suppose this is the reason O'Bomber is Prez..and I'm not. O'Bomber sees the "Big Picture".

yeah right, like he's the first president to do that.

c'mon.

lot's of retarded people save money by spending even more.

even i do that, i saved 200 $$ at the sale last week, i spent 150 saved 200 and went becasue i needed one pair of nylons. originally $ 4.79 (not anymore, but i used to think that way)

hospitals do it too, starter set of kleenex cost your insurance company about 8 bucks, yup, the 79 cent pack.

if they put me in charge of purchasing and paid even 3 percent commission on cost savings, I would be a rich woman. Bet I could evcen find a warehouse suitable for pennies on the diollar andwe all live a little fatter and better with puffs plus for a buck.

I can find some deals.

Yeah, the problem is that you're not buying panty hose for the entire federal government when you go shopping. Another problem is that you're not spread out all over the United States..like the federal government is spread out...are you?

Yeah, like he is the first Pres to feed his buds Kobe beef at the weekly Wed dinner parties. Never heard of any other Pres being so flagrantly ostentatious with taxpayer's money. These are not State Dinners but rather weekly get togethers with their friends.

Now, if O'Bomber was capable of using his head...or had a lick of executive experience to his name...he would pick vendors and issue them a firm purchase order for an annual supply of whatever they supply at a 10-15% discount under the usual government price. The kicker in the deal would be the vendors would act as the government warehouse and release product against that PO by government requisition. Oh, and those vendors would also get to ship or deliver to the federal office named in the requisition(s).

I know that works because it's exactly what I did in incarnations as Material Control Mgr, General Supervisor of Operations and GM of West Coast Operations. Vendors love getting those huge purchase orders. It simplifies their own warehousing and production scheduling...especially when it's tied to an estimated monthly requitision quantity.

Now there's talk in demoscat circles that O'Bomber and congressional demoscats are willing to meet Republicans half way in ongoing budget cuts from last years budget...which was never passed.

Republicans want 61 Billion dollars cut in the remaining months of the fiscal year.

O'Bomber and congressional demoscats have offered to cut 6 Billion.

Leftist math makes 6 Billion half of 61 Billion.

It's no wonder that after 4 years of demoscat control of the House and Senate and 2 years of O'Bomber in the White House they've managed to add 5 Trillion dollars to the National Debt.

"All deaths are suicides, do you realize that? Every single one. The only distinction is that, with some people, suicide is a subconscious choice, and with others it's a conscious choice. Otherwise, those who commit suicide and those who succumb to accident, illness or "old age," die for exactly the same reason: belief in the inevitability of death." Linda Goodman
