I wrote this poem about a person I know, more as an aquaintance. I had read his poem from a place he posted it, and wanted to respond to him personally, but I as I was hesitant, wrote this instead. Still, I wish I could share it with him. BTW, he's also the same person the letter/poem I wrote a few weeks back was directed at. ************************************ UnderstandingI won't be sending this verse within a thousand miles of you so here I will express My sentiments true I think you are a gifted poet Albeit a lonely man A strong and self-effacing manner Shy admirers feel banned Your skilled self-expression Drips of emotion and hurt I wish the world hadn't caused all that and been so cold and curt From what I know of you which was percieved through intuition You deserve much more a life of love and exultation You'd be surprised to find I wrote a similar poem A mere four months ago when my heart felt like foam A day the world out there Had scattered my illusions But suddenly it hurt much worse A sense and anguish fusion So I just wanted you to know I empathize with how you feel Keep in mind the hopes you imagine They will one day all turn real ------------------ -K "Most people love with restraint As if they were someday to hate We hated gently, carefully As if we were someday to love"-Venus Trines at Midnight IP: Logged |

VAA...how sad you can't give it to him BUT, I somehow 'feel' there is a part of him that can read it. ------------------

Thanks YIVY. I do hope he can somehow read it. We are both still young, but in my opinion, he would be more capable of understanding my response than other guys because he's already a poet. I've always felt that poetry is so personal, and revealing in a way that makes us vulnerable but more human. I'm really tempted to send it to him, but I wouldn't want to come on so strong, cause I do have more intense feelings than he suspects...------------------ -K "Most people love with restraint As if they were someday to hate We hated gently, carefully As if we were someday to love"-Venus Trines at Midnight IP: Logged |

I sent it to him. And he sounded as though he liked it. To quote him, he said "wow i dont deserve to call myself a poet" I feel much better having done that. But his lack of self esteem worries me...I don't like that he's so self-effacing...------------------ -K "Most people love with restraint As if they were someday to hate We hated gently, carefully As if we were someday to love"-Venus Trines at Midnight IP: Logged |

VAA...good for you! At least you know inside you did the right thing And I think he did 'get it', but is avoiding the issue ------------------

What do you mean Yivy? About him "getting it" but avoiding the issue?

I think he completely understood what you were trying to say. But like you said, he seems to lack self-esteem. He need to recognize the great potential he has, but for some reason avoids it. And I 'felt' he always knew how you felt even before he saw the poem you wrote for him....but for some reason it scares him a bit. Like you said, he is a poet and poets are extremely 'sensitive' to the vibes around them. And VRR...some people just never see how much they effect other people. They 'avoid' seeing it as it places a responsibility on them they don't want to deal with. But all good poets touch deep emotions in others with their poety and do effect them. It is part of being who you are. ------------------

Yivy, that makes perfect sense. I'm just sitting back right now, in one sense at peace, but at the same time, anxious. I hope he somes to terms with what I wrote at some point, (the Aries in me is screaming -SOON!) and is both able to deal with the fact that I feel something toward him and also that he is good with words. Thanks for the encouragement. BTW, he does have a Pisces moon. What sort of effect would it have on his Taurean sun?
