I was just surfing around yesterday listning to my tecchy-industrial music when i thought about how cool it would be to actually make one...well, here's the result.

I've been working on this since yesterday, trying to take a break from 3D.

Its similar in style to some of Seb Fontaines' new material (he's a Trance DJ for those of you that havent heard of him) although I havent worked out how to sample my own noises yet, so i'm just stuck with Fruityloops' default noises.

Anyways....without further ado I present "Ascension"

Hey wEvil...the page can't be found...

I feel so out of touch. I don;t even know what the heck trance music is. I never listened to the music of the times...ugh...I'm pathetic.

grrr...we get a 1mb cable line in so things wont upload at 2k/sec and then an idiot sag housemate plugs in his own little hub and *poof* - packet collisions everywhere.

give it another ten minutes....i didnt think it'd take so long to upload!

Trance i'd term as euphoric dance, although there are lots of subgenres (Goa, Balearic etc) - basically its electronica with an emotional twist.

*edit*
oh, and I dont really listen to "music of the times" - most venues dont really play the stuff I like to hear, favouring "garage" and R&B over something half-decent, not to mention proper Trance went out of the mainstream probably as early as 1999.

In 1999, I still hadn't heard of trance/industrial music LOL Must be the cave I live in...

But now I'm curious.

ok, it should be uploaded by now

Looking for Trance? Paul Oakenfold and DJ Tiesto are probably two of the most well-known people in that scene.

YEa Oxy you will know when I send you the CD!! Paul Oakenfold and RObert Miles and stuff like that I like!

The first time I heard trance music my brain got stuck in the music- I was like, wow, what is this? OK OK the brain getting stuck was from the LSD and XTC but I mean, I still love it now, I work out with it on.

I download music from Kazaa.com..

I woulndt call it music of the time...I was into trance, house, electronica and many other forms of electronic music from about 1994 untill about 3 years ago. I dont like much of the new stuff thats coming out now. I still put on some Oakenfold ( my signed copy of global underground My favorite track of all times is 'Sweetness and Light' by itchie and scratchie. (a must download and Australian of course I had a huge phase in 1994 with the likes of ultra sonic, dyewitness etc Happy Hardcore we used to call it and we would dance for 12 hours straight at times!! aahhhh those were the days

It takes a while for me too. But it's very cool.

And aptly named.

Fajita-I use Kazaa too. I used to use Soul Seek, but couldn't find very much. Limewire was annoying.

(It's another file-sharing program.)

Yep - I took my lil bro to go se "25th Hour".
Veeeeeeeeeery interesting - sad in a way, contemplative...dealt w/ loss, blame, and "what if's?" a good deal.
And I've always liked Ed Norton's performances.

I saw 25th hour last week...

I too love Ed Norton

BUT

You know...he and Rosario Dawson just weren't convincing as a couple. One of them just wasn't right for the movie and I can't figure out which one. Barry Pepper on the other hand...was great! And that view form his apartment! I went to a party this summer in an apt. with the same view-very, very eerie. And sad. I think the movie dragged on a bit...

There were 2 things I especially loved about the movie-(aside from 2+ hours of Ed Norton)

The shots of the Twin Tower lights

The monologue he had in the bathroom about every stereotype in nyc! Just perfect! My coworker and I just looked at each other and smiled.

Have you seen Adaptation? I just saw it last Sat. I'm putting these discount movie tickets to good use.

Haven't seen it!

That was like when I saw the movie Traffic- Since I knew Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas were a couple, I kept thinking they were supposed to be in the movie too and getting all confused. Well OK my few cocktails didn't help the situation but still..

Gee I don't know if you guys saw my other post tonight but I seem to be focusing on Michael Douglas alot

Yup, yup - I saw Adaptation a couple weeks ago.
Veeeery cool. Might've been too cool and tongue in cheek for it's own good, but still quite good.

It's downloading......mmmmm waiting....

You guys...trance.... ? Meet Lien-A.

Kind of cool N_wE! I am listening right now.

I get images instantly of two people in black latex suits with blue sunglasses, swirling around each other into a cylinder of blacklight into the nights sky and beyond. Surrounded by feelings of anxiety. They have a purpose but they are not quite sure what it is yet. They look at each other, can't stop looking. They wear guns, they're involved in a pursuit, is there any escape? If they can only carefully make their thoughts focussed into another direction so they can turn (seemingly) left into another dimension.
One of them is bleeding, got shot by one of those laser guns, one of which the bullet finds you by body heat. One of the latex individuals heals the other by thinking. Gently they move, move into infinity. On and on and ON!

I like Edward Norton in one of my favourite movies; Fight Club!

High five N_wE!
