He was a passer-by
Whom I met while crossing the road
For a moment
He touched my soul
And changed my life
For better and worse
Then he was gone
I never lost him
Since I never had him
But part of him
Remains with me
And that part of me
Might just be the best
Which is him...I was a passer-by
Whom you met while crossing the road
For a moment
I touched your soul
And changed your life
For better and worse
But you gave me more
Than what I could possibly have given to you
No matter how much it hurts
You were a gift
Which never belonged to me
She was a passer-by
Whom he met while crossing the road
For a moment
She touched his soul
And changed his life
For better and worse
She was pure and divine
In every way, was his saviour
Though she was eventually gone
But she lives in his heart
In the evermore
We were, one another's passers-by
Whom we met while crossing the road
For a moment
We touched one another's soul
And changed one another's life
For better and worse
Face it, we fellow wanderers
Can never possess each other
But what we have here
Is beyond possession
And I honour that very moment
When we found each other
While crossing the road
