Why did you lie
I didn't understand
The next day, I awoke
You were gone
My faith in you was shattered

Why do I lie
I don't really know
Tomorrow, I'll tell more lies
I am shocked by myself
My belief has crumbled

Was it just a game for you
Was it just a bet
Were you playing a gambler
Were you playing a dealer

Am I being two-faced
Am I lying to myself
Am I filling myself with disgrace
Am I poisoning myself

Didn't I deserve the truth
Didn't we care for each other
Didn't you take it seriously
Didn't we want something beyond

Why did you lie
I still don't understand
Was it one of your addictions
May you find a cure

Why do I lie
I might never know
Is it because I'm wicked
May I find salvation

I have questioned the same things you address in your poem. I guess we all do... Awareness is the first step towards the right path. Sounds like you know where you're going
