The Crab

i hear, so i heed
you spoke, i receed
with the ebbs and flows i go
still on the sand recide though
time and tide do not dwell
'neath the trappings of my shell
without it still i exist
my very being shown, a list
though you take me as i am
i offer a lot more without this dam
penetrate it not, you, i beguile
for it takes a while at a time,
just a while
