I'm having fun reading all the great work here. I decided to share a little of my own (I rarely do that), I guess they could be called poems..

L'et go

Merry girl, you are fair
your blanket of bronze hair
curls over my ankles
as you read my future in the sky
Let go
every meeting is...
come, and let's forget for a while the priests and philosophers
let's make music like it makes us
and string together pearls of fantasy
and myth
let's find those dancing shoes you hid
let's find the enemies we loved and they can play with us, merry also, and almost familiar
let's burn the old books that told us to weep for beauty
let's weep at beauty and change its name to Stranger
let's find pieces of this song which just might decide to never end
and throw them into wild night
with kisses for the rich
and memory for the rest.

I wrote this one last night:

Around the 25th (of course)
Pity we had to return the envelopes
They were full of words like Open, Submissive,
powerful, Legendary
we felt like heroes
now we are just a couple of teenagers with lousy shoes, dowdy hair and empty pockets
now we are just a couple of fantasy grocers
you sell your dirty pictures
and I sell my poems
on the big ugly chair there's a collection of
Thing That Don't Inspire Us
such as bills, family photographs and that quote you found on the supermarker floor
"If we are to kill each other, let's do it soon"
We lie in bed with Jerry Hey on trumpet
and we imagine we are flying or maybe that we can still turn our backs and run away
buf if I even tried, I would find myself running back with tears and of course you'd still be lying here and you would take my moistend hand (of course) and hold it.

whiterabbit, I'm glad you contributed! I love the way your words form (in both poems)
quote:
let's make music like it makes us

The way it's written can produce lots of different scenarios, very cool

Wow. You are a very talented poet whiterabbit.

I'm curious to what your Moon sign is. And what's your Mercury doing?

why, thank you 26t.
Leo moon here (10th house)
My mercury? Well it's in Aquarius in the 4th house. Conjunct Sun and Venus, opposing the moon. I've got Uranus and Saturn in the 3rd.
What about you?
It would be interesting to study mercury/3rd house and writing styles, wouldn't it?

Ah-ha! How interesting! A full moon baby. That's a nice combo of planets shaking hands with your moon. Mercury conj. Sun AND Venus! What a mind you have. All in the 4th, the depths of the soul house. I have a 4th house Sun as well. And you have two heavies in the 3rd house of writing and how you communicate, very nice.

Yes, it would be interesting to study Merc/3rd house and writing styles. Do you feel your Uranus or Saturn comes out more in your style of writing? Probably both at times.

You know, Uranus and Saturn are the co-rulers of Aquarius? They have a certain affinity to each other. So it's interesting they are together in your 3rd house.

I think in my chart it would have to do with a mutual reception of Mercury/Taurus (in the 3rd) and Venus/Gemini (in the 5th). Venus is also opposite Neptune. But I think maybe the biggest indicator would be from Uranus strongly placed in my chart conjunct the MC, sextile AC. I feel the Uranian influence strongly in my life, with Aquarius intercepted in the first house as well. Not sure why, but I think Uranus would play a big part in a writers chart. Maybe not all writers, you know, depending on their style. Uranus is the planet of creative genius, so I could see it being a biggie in certain writers charts.

It's all very interesting isnt it? Like you said, we should look into it more.

Also I forgot, I have Chiron in the 3rd conj. Merc. I think that would play a part too.

........there was something else I was going to say, and I forgot that too now........hrrmmmm....

you know I always forget about the Saturn/Aquarius connection- it is certainly interesting, and I feel the influence of Saturn a lot in my life, just as much as Uranus.

I guess I've never really thought about how the planets influence my writing before. I'll have to give it some thought. I always thought Uranus and Neptune would play a big role in writer's charts.
One of my favourite poets- Leonard Cohen- has a 12th house Neptune and 8th house Uranus. He writes a lot about 8th and 12th house matters and is very influenced by Scorpio/Pisces in his writing. But he's got the Pisces moon in 5th (creative expression, no?)
My Venus in actually "interpreted in the 5th house" according to astro.com, but I still don't know how I feel about that placing it in the next house just because it's on the edge of the other. Maybe my Venus dances between 4th and 5th, I can see that.

How do you feel the Uranian influence? (In life and in writing?)

I'm still learning about Chiron, I don't really understand how it comes together with everything else. Leonard Cohen has Chiron trine Mercury. OMG...I JUST noticed this: His and my Chiron are PERFECTLY conjunct in Gemini/9th. Whoa..I will have to study our charts more. I just did a synastry for us as I am writing this. Wow...you should do synastry charts with your favourite writers and tell me what you discoer. Wow..I am still amazed by my discovery..

P.S. My Chiron trines Sun, Moon and Mercury and Sextiles Moon..interesting.. What are your thoughts on Chiron and writing? Writing as healing?

let's keep studying this!!

I'm excited.

Ok I have done some Chiron reading- someone was asking about it in another thread so I found some links for them- and helped myself in the proccess! Both Gemini and 9th house Chiron are related to teachers/learning. Very interesting. I find I think of L.Cohen as my teacher. He uses metaphores about teachers/masters a lot in his work- in fact one of his poem/songs that I posted here is called "Teachers".."I met a girl across the sea her hair the gold that gold can be Are you a teacher of the heart? Yes but not for thee.."
Just wanted to update you on my research.

OK I had to share this:
Leonard Cohen's father passed away when he was nine years old and this even played a major role in the shaping of his consciousness and his choice of vocation. His father was a Jewish scholar (9th house). My father passed away when I was sixteen. This played a major role in the shaping of my consciousness and my choice of study/maybe vocation. My father was a Philosophy professor (9th house).
Religion, Philosophy, Scholars, Teachers---Gemini/9th house/Chiron..isn't this just amazing?
Sorry..I'm very excited.

hehe whiterabbit. You remind me of me. I do the same thing when I dig up someone's chart. I love to find out the connections. I took a look at ee cummings chart but noticed that the time was speculative so I'm going to do some more research.

And wow! The connections between your and Leonard Cohen's chart ARE pretty amazing! But then again the deeper I get into astrology the more I expect those kind of things. They still dont cease to suprise me though. Especially the part about your conj. Chirons. To me that tells alot. About why you gravitate towards his work, it has a healing/soothing affect on you. You are in sych in that department. You understand/relate to him and his Chiron issues perfectly. Know what I mean? A conjunction shows a fusion of planetary energies. And when it's the same planet well! it's a melding of the same energies. A complete understanding.

I have also read bits on Chiron pertaining to teaching and of course healing. I think in my chart it makes perfect sense being in my 3rd house of communication, I do feel I heal people close to me with my words. I'm the person that people come to with problems or something that they dont feel comfortable telling anyone else. Also the third house being the natural house of Gemini, rules the hands. I have been trained in hands on healing and am quite good at it. I've got to start writing more. Since I wrote that recent poem, I can seem to get out of a poetic frame of mind and spent hours today writing and jotting things down. It was just pouring out. So yes, I think Chiron could definitely come into play when connected to other aspects indicating a writing talent in a chart. Or placed in the 3rd or 9th house. It would have a 'Chironian flair' to it! I'll dig up some of the good info on Chiron that I have, for you. It IS hard to find good info on the "Wounded Healer".

I feel the Uranian influence in life because its right up there conjunct my MC. So the job/career arena of my life has never been stable. I've had more jobs than anyone I know. And I've always known that at some point I would be self employed. That is a major goal for me. Also a planet being on an angle always simultaniously affects the opposite angle. The IC, 4th house cusp. So my home life has never been stable either. You know Uranus, constant change, chaos and upheaval. Really it is a favorite part of my chart though. It makes me a bit eccentric. Something I admire very much in people.

"In writing?" I think I've only scratched the surface in that area. But I feel it's influence there.

And those are some amazing 9th house life similarities between you and Leonard. Wow! Very interesting.

And youve compelled me to want to explore his work now!

Yes, let's keep studing this! I'll be sure to keep you updated on what I find out.

I'm going to go read "Teachers" now. Talk soon!

I had to respond to this, as I am active in this forum too.
My Mercury is in my third house, as is Pluto ( in Libra ) and I have a Fourth house Sun too, conjunct Mars and Uranus.
Neat-O!! I wonder what other 'writing commonalities' we all share?

Yes! I completely forgot! I thought of you with the Sun in the fourth as well pix.

I was thinking about this earlier, that there is a strongly placed Leo influence in alot of the poets here. Pixie has Leo rising, whiterabbit has a Leo Moon along with Ghani - I believe. DynamicStillness is a Leo along with NeoKitty. These are the people that have been posting here recently and that commonality just occured to me earlier. Leo isnt necesarily "known" for writing, but it is a passionate sign, full of heart, so it would make sense to be a prominant point in a poets chart.

Also pixie, I just pulled up your chart (I still had it in my astro.com file), I didnt realize you had Merc and Pluto in the third. That fits perfectly into your writing style I believe (and all that 4th "house of depth" planetary activity adds alot too). Pluto shows the ability to penetrate the surface of something. It's about sexuality, transformation, death, depth. Pluto is also about concealing, where and what you conceal. So I think in the third, it would show someone with a whole other world going on in their mind. Very active with large parts of it not known or shown to others. And you could easily and naturally express that through writing (3rd house). Writing would be extremely theraputic for someone with a 3rd house Pluto. And youve got Mercury helping out there, in it's natural house. A gifted thinker and communicator you are (but we already knew that ).

Also interesting, your Chiron is conjunct your MC. I was reading something about this recently (my brother has the same placement), I'll try and dig it up because I found it interesting. Right now it's late and it's not coming to me. But your Chiron is opposing your Mercury in the 3rd, so that most definitely plays a part in your writing. Very interesting!

I've got to look into this some more now, it's really intriguing. It's hard to find good Chiron info though. But it is a very important point in a chart. Especially when it's on an angle, like in both of our charts.

Lot to digest! Sometimes all the info gets overwhelming and it's hard to put together, but it's always fascinating!

Maybe we should start a seperate string on this. LOL

Thank you for those, they are excellent. Will definitely need to do a lot of thinking to understand Chiron- I find "him" so much more complex than most of the other plantes.
