with your strong hands
and your unquestioning love and faith
I asked for support
and what did you do
but become my bridge
to understanding
(I'll try to tread a bit gentler
and take off the heels)
This love is not sport
to you
it is everything you were meant to do
and I can live passionately through
your eyes
and you will be still as I work on
these ties
with or without you
makes my belly churn
it is not fond rememberence
that makes my heart burn
it is the blue of your eyes
and the way of your 'you'
I forget a lot it is so very true
and so very new
again
