"The only people for me are the mad ones. Hi Aida! I suppose it is relative. I'm sure all of us can think of someone who is more complex than ourselves. I dont know if any single person is in an authoritative position to say with certainty who is or is not "complex", but it is something interesting to think about, and surely everyone is free to share their own point of view. I would imagine that there are many kinds of complexity, and probably everyone is complex in some ways. Clearly, everyone is infinitely complex, whenever you consider them within an infinite context. To me, complexity, or, what I think of as my own complexity, has to do with being a little eccentric, individualistic, and relatively original, in how I see and react to the world. It is not something that I try to do or be, but it is just a natural outgrowth of who I am. I like being this way, and I take pride in it; maybe too much at times, but it helps when I am getting down on myself. I think of complex people, in general, as people who feel and think deeply, and, usually, who feel a need to express themselves; people who are eager to learn and teach, and to give and receive love; people who surprise themselves, who consider things from a variety of angles, and can see many possible answers to most questions or problems; people who shock us, move us, inspire us, and provoke us to see things in new and expansive ways. I think of complexity as a good thing. "One must still have chaos in oneself to give birth to a dancing star." ~ Nietzsche Others may have a stronger taste for simplicity. We all have our own unique ways of interpreting the world; some more or less unique than others, but no two exactly alike. The most important thing to remember, when "judging" one another (and we cannot help but judge one another), is that we can be different, without being better or worse than each other. It seems that every person is prejudiced in their own favor, because that is the nature of perception, or point-of-view, and what we learn from one another is how to balance our own perspective with the perspectives of others. Really, it is a dynamic process, that never ends. We are continually challenged to discover and rediscover our place within the larger community. Love and Light to you, HSC

This is the most reasonable thing I've heard all day. Thank you for finding me in a sea of... blah.I'm not down or sad or anything at all. Just intense and mellow. Yes, both. Quiet, quivering, waiting... IP: Logged |
