Beauty is within,
so deep sometimes we miss it.
But other's see what
we personally hide from.
The child inside
that yearns never to grow up.
The adult we show
that yearns to be a child again.
Away from it all
on a far away star,
we long to find our way home.
But maybe forgiveness is
right where we sinned.
We have to find the strength
to ask
from deep within.
Patience is no virtue
when smiles become so scarce.
The need to be known
is almost child-like in a sense.
We need that attention,
those hugs and kisses.
Just a different version
I suppose,
but they are all the same.
If we could believe once more
in the unbelievable
it might work better.
It could be good again,
to be able to believe
in the things we are told
are childish in manner.
What has us so convinced
that we have to be "big kids"
now?
Being an adult sucks royally
most times
but it has it perks.
What I wouldn't give
to have that innocence back sometimes.
