Never been much of a poet, but this represents a lot of what I've been feeling lately.

Go easy on me Knowflakes...just a rookie at this.

Plutonian Dream

Every night You come to me
Feeding off my vulnerability
and weakness

To know the dark angel
Is to know the Truth
Can you see?

Take me, touch me, show me
So that I might know
the depths
of You

You seduce me with your crimson eyes
and your steely cold veins
I surrender to you

Oh Lord of all that is sorrow
I long to taste
your despair
your rage
your agony
and pain

You speak to me in tongues
Words my mind does not comprehend
But my soul understands

The words become whispers
surrounding me
I cannot see
I cannot hear
but I can Feel

Hands about my body
Tearing at my flesh
scratching, biting, and bleeding
A feast for the damned

And it ends
My own corpse before me
My own heart beats in my hands

From your care I emerge
Clawing my way to the light
Through the ashes and debris I rise
And I will rise again

Great work, Cranky Cap! I've always heard it said that good poetry is all about the poignancy of the images evoked by the poet's words. Your poem is rife with vivid imagery! I think it's inevitable that when one writes about Pluto, the themes are tinged with the deep and dark side of things. Pluto and lightheartedness just don't hack it together, I think. Keep on writing, Cranky Cap, and please share your future poems with us!
