I've been playing a lot with my new graphic toys lately. Still finding my way around the new software, but the results are pretty decent so far.

Nice job.

I remember when we first saw the Wacomm tablet. A drawing tablet with no cord and an eraser function. It was back at Comdex 95? 96? Our G.A. had to have one. (He got it..it was awesome.)

Wish it had come bundled with that software though.

Keep up the good work, man.

I'm thinking now that perhaps I should saturate the colors after I treat the photographs. They get a little washed out on the bright flat screen monitors. I don't have a flat screen at home, so this didn't really hit me until I viewed them at work.

Great pics, AG

My favorites are the tree picture and the little church.

You're a born photographer. You have the eye.

I love what you have done here with the pictures. They are like art exhibits. Make you want to keep studying them.

Have you ever exhibted any of your work, AG? You really should.

Thanks all of you. I post these at Flickr, too, and though I get people viewing them no one is leaving any comments. I was starting to think that my playing around was only pleasing to me.

Mirandee, I'm with you on the little church. That one fascinates me. It almost looks like a really good artist tackled it. I'm thinking of getting that one printed, and donating it to them.

The tree is really cool as well. I think both pictures you mentioned illustrate that a good raw picture makes all the difference when trying stuff like this out.

I'm pretty sure I used the same technique on both of those, which is that I blurred the original photo and used it as a background layer. Then I converted each picture into a sketch (the tree sketch is in green) and laid it on top of the original. I make the top layer opaque so you can see the bottom picture through it, and then it seems to look like some impossibly good artist rendered them in perfect scale.

Stepping Off the Comic Book Page

The sense that the above [picture of me] is sketched as well as the sense of depth to the picture seem to increase the larger the picture is, though I'm not going to post a larger size than this here. you can check it out here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/acousticgarden/

Those are really neat. I also loved your photos that you posted before at FFA a long time ago.

Awesome!

The last two really show that you're starting to get to know the program well!

Kudos!
