The soul
Intangible
consisting not of fibers
but of layers
the mind
nonnegotiable
cosisting of grey
and absorbant matterthe heart
unintelligable
consisting of smooth muscle
blood and passion
These words
simple in science
complicate themselves in emotion
That which controls us, scientifically,
full of nerve endings, veins
thought
That which rules us
unexplained by doctorates
forever debated by theorists and educated guess
We prove that reaction
Is dictated by hormones
released unscrupulously by action
What are we to do with these?
These feelings?
Emotions
poured through our systems like bitter honey
left to stew and aggrivate
contemplate
proper decorum
Just showmanship
putting on airs
so as not to upset acceptable practice
What are we to do with the leftovers?
Shuffle them away
into the sacred sanctum of the soul
A tired, broken, beaten abyss
We enjoy giving names
to identify and file
separates us from the beasts
Can lions feel anger?
Can sharks feel fear?
We've given names,
and explinations to everything
Books, mission statements,
articles and series
to all that we try to understand.
Science has tried for eons
to make sense of our 'reactions'
Maybe they can be put aside by some
placed in the category of
'normal, healthy reaction'
But that tells us what?
That we all feel the same?
At some point, at our highest high or lowest low
that the 'chemical reaction'
is the same as someone elses?
So we can feel part of a whole?
No different from our fellow wo/man?
Love
What is that definition?
On the chemical level,
certain hormones being released due to a stimulus?
Sort of takes away the beauty
Why are our reactions to some,
so different than to others?
Is is as simple as the chemicals between us?
Is it all timing?
When escaping the idea of science
of physics
thinking 'outside the box'
Is more clarity found?
Love
Hate
Indifference
Are they predestined ideals?
The soul
so undermined, misunderstood
Waiting for explination
The mind
overanalyzed, paying the price for suffering, joy
The heart
blamed relentlessly
for beating a bit faster
a bit slower
So what is right?
The free will granted us, abused in it's own way
How tired one soul can become
from trying to decipher
the ancient code written for each beating heart
each exhausted mind
Like running in endless, repeating circles
Is the trinity of man
Soul
Mind
Heart
Who shall win?
Which battle will prove the best 'man'?
Which side will concede for lack of evidence...
Lack of conviction?
Loss of self?
Perhaps the perfect union
Is what we all yearn to achieve
Once those elements are found....
What else is there to ponder?
I wrote that about a year and a half ago. Goes to show the Aquarian heart is the relentless scientist.....
