There's a man who is paid
For the laws that he's laid
Then a large sum of money
Quitely exchanges them to another.Because it makes up for neglection of the care and affection from the love of the woman he calls his mother.
He says "I might not always get it
Why I need to feel protected
Does anyone know the reason for it?
But some day I'll get there
When everyone needs me"
Though he don't seem to know
How to reach out anymore.
"If I look you in the eye
The gaze I give is not mine
I can can pretend
I can befriend,
It's not really I"
There's a woman who gives in
Her whole self for a living
She makes herself an island
In the streets of danger
When she justifies her reason,
That she makes money to please him
She says she makes a man hopeful
Gives hope to a stranger
When the father who loved her, loved her
said "you're my special girl, aint no-one makes me feel the way you feel,
"But if I look you in the eye,
the gaze I give is not mine
I can't be wrong
We can belong,
But it's not really I"
So the stories continue
Passed down generations
You keep looking for someone
Who has to pay?
And where are you looking.....
Where do you go
If you can't find your way?
