Hush now babe your delectable wages
Paid today, no more sages
Tell the way, now beings to you and me

Here I stand, bold but lonely
Bold with shame that does disown me
Curtains drawn now that the war is over

I feel so alive for the very time
You take my sins away
Born to the glory of two,
So take these chains and let me lay
right next to you.

You're taking your time
And that'll do fine
But I on't get your meaning
Well is that so bad
I don't have to know you
To understand
But I'll skip along gladly
if you'll take my hand.

You talk so politely
That baby quite rightly
I want to smile
Well is that so bad
I don't have to see you
To know that I love you
So I'll skipm along grandly
If you'll say it too

Ooh Baby
My heart loses rhythm
Thats so hard to fathom
Whenever you're near
And baby we have such conversations
But I'm loosing my patience!
Until you can say what I need to hear.

So I'll sit and ignore you
Until you're ready
You know I adore you
But it's driving me crazy
Until you feel 'comfortable' enough to say it
Then I don't need your kisses
Until you submit.

There's a man who is paid
For the laws that he's laid
Then a large sum of money
Quitely exchanges them to another.

Because it makes up for neglection of the care and affection from the love of the woman he calls his mother.

He says "I might not always get it
Why I need to feel protected
Does anyone know the reason for it?
But some day I'll get there
When everyone needs me"
Though he don't seem to know
How to reach out anymore.

"If I look you in the eye
The gaze I give is not mine
I can can pretend
I can befriend,
It's not really I"

There's a woman who gives in
Her whole self for a living
She makes herself an island
In the streets of danger
When she justifies her reason,
That she makes money to please him
She says she makes a man hopeful
Gives hope to a stranger

When the father who loved her, loved her
said "you're my special girl, aint no-one makes me feel the way you feel,
"But if I look you in the eye,
the gaze I give is not mine
I can't be wrong
We can belong,
But it's not really I"

So the stories continue
Passed down generations
You keep looking for someone
Who has to pay?
And where are you looking.....
Where do you go
If you can't find your way?
