I cry tears for an emptiness I cannot name

I rock myself in an embrace I can never sate

I long for a person who was never there

I ache for a heart that bleeds empty years

I long for a place that was never mine

I wish for an angel that will not come

I search for the love that can never be found

I reach for a hand that will not reach back

I desire what does not exist in this world

I know deep inside me what was not mine to claim

I dream of a place where love abounds

I set out a vision where there’s no need for refrain
