Where do you find inspiration? What is your most reliable source that you go back to again and again, when you need creative refreshing? What do you do when you find yourself repeating a common theme? Go with it, and let it run itself dry, or try something different to shift perspective? I notice with poetry, the more pain I am in, the better the poem. So cliche' I know, but truth no less. I went outside to sit out front with pad and pen, on a lovely early evening, with a nice breeze and nothing particularly heavy on my mind... I had just ate a crab cake, and an ice cold beer, I mean I was fairly oozing gratitude at that moment. Then the ice cream man started coming down the street. First thing that comes to my mind, is how creepy that dang music is. Second thing that comes to my mind is that all the families on this street are on food stamps and nobodys gonna buy their kid an ice cream. Third thing, he stops in front of my house and even with terrible vision, I can see that he is obviously impaired by some substance, I quickly deduce from experience (not personal!) that he is on crack. Now how am I supposed to write something about that! Books and films usually inspire me. Sigh, maybe a trip to the museum. I don't mean to be Depressing! Gosh, that is the last impression I would want! It just seems that my positive to negative ratio on poems is dangerously tilting towards negative, but with artwork it always seems positive. I guess thats a balance, it itself. What about YOU??? IP: Logged |

Mmmm, crab cakes Oh, you were talking about inspiration, right. Sorry. (What can I say, crab cakes DO inspire me ) Hmm, I don't write poetry anymore. It's very laborious for me to do it in English. When it happens, the muse is usually miss Unrequited Love herself. Mental anguish inspires me, I can't write from a peaceful place. Give me over-stimulation of the heart and I will write you a book! (It may be a stupid book though) IP: Logged |

Yes of course Yin! Valhalla027@gmail.comI welcome any comments or questions you may have. I try to check my email on the regular, but I must confess I lack in that area since I get myself caught up here or on myspace. However, I will try and look at it more, so feel free! I wrote yours down and put it in a safe place so if you don't want to keep it here, no worries, I got it. Talk to you soon! IP: Logged |
