i enjoy woodburning. finite detail is tough, but is is fun. sometimes when i carve wood, i do woodburning just to create more definition. i did a lion that turned out pretty cool. i love it that you try different mediums. i get bored and try new mediums a lot.right now jewlery making.....whatever catches my interest. happy woodburning!

may i suggest with the woodcarvingto use a dremmel. thebasicwoodcarving tool can be toughtouse and using a dremmel gives more control. i will probobly be embarrased becasue yours will make mine looklike kidnergarden work. but it is very enjoyable. some woods render themselves better to carving, but sometimes i dont mind usingwood with imperfections, as i am not perfect either, and if you look at the natural grain and work with it, you will creat some beautiful things.

i also like to do partial carving and partial paintings on them. i have only seen one other artist with that style. some guy in new orleans that charged BIG bucks for his stuff.

how did the flea market go? i am taking my wares to one this saturday! hope i do well!!!!

you must have really good eyes to detail such small things. i got this gynocologist type light and magnifier last week that actually makes it possible for me to work on small things now too!!!! using a lot of turquoise and silver if you want to see it i will try to post some pictures today...if i don't sell it, i know one thing, i will never run out of jewlery, between what i bought and what i made..

do you think because your sun and my asc at the same degree perhaps gives us the same interests? it's just that we both have the same interests and artistic expession...

either way, you are one exceptionally talented woman!

not as well as i would have liked...but I'm going to try again somewhere else, that was more like a community rummage sale and monst vendors items were like a buck...so not the best venue...i need to find a better venue for it. i'm not giving up, but it is a lot of work, i made barely over a hundred bucks.

awesome t, i love her! she is exquisite! all my stuff is currently packed away, i lost my craftroom due to kids moving in and out, i long to get back to it, been thinking about it a lot lately and missing it. when i tried the woodburning i found that it took much longer to get the desired effects than carving, patience patience, and the tips weren't as detail oriented as teh dremel, so a bit harder to work with, your piece is simply outstanding, especially since i know how tedious it is to do the burning. lord yes, i would love to lose myself in a project for hours. i miss it so much! great job t, one of your best! i wouldnt change a thing, you capture this erethal essence when you do women that is hard to even explain, like your nymph by the lake. that is certainly something that can not be taught! kudos!
