Sometimes, I think, the world is so beautiful, -- colors, lines.. the suggestion of a leg... or a few wavy lines for a flow of hair... the kindness of a child, -- that it's almost more difficult to make bad art than good. Art is happening all the time, if we just don't screw it up too much.

I just learned of a great cemetary in the Italian city Genova (Cimitero di Staglieno). It has an incredible amount of sculpture throughout.

Wow, AG! I'm in love with those. Yin, I wasnt too struck, at first, by the work of Panayotov, but today it really speaks to me.
I also really like that one you just posted by Kisel.

Abstract art is like jazz. There are some interesting moments, chords in jazz that you can find irritating or out of place and they change every time you listen to the same piece. You come to appreciate and wait for them. With abstract art you find something new every time you look at one of those paintings, depending on your mood, the light, the current circumstances. The same piece can look totally different. I live for those moments of uniqueness in the mind because they are ultimately an illusion. (I like illusion. Feels like home. I'm guessing Nept. conj. Sun has everything to do with that.) The pieces remain the same. Only my experiences change.IP: Logged |

Yin;I have this Picasso print hanging over my dresser. It is directly in front of my bed, so it is the first thing my eyes see in the morning, if I am looking straight ahead, that is. Anyway, it is black and white. Some days it looks like people and creatures writhing in the torments of hell, and somedays it looks like people and creatures worshipping in rapture. Funny how that is. IP: Logged |

Yin,I was told to call today about the mat. I did and it isnt ready. They are backed up with their holiday orders and I was told to call again in a week. The order is already in and paid for and now I just have to wait to get it. I picked different color this time and I think it was the better choice actually and will look great in an ornate or thick gold frame to bring out the touches of yellow and that will also work well with the mat color. Anyway, sorry again. T IP: Logged |
