I have to let the past go
that's what they try to say
I don't think that I hold too tight
but memories will always stay

Flashes of pain and saddness,
too hard to not regret
Even when I couldn't help
The scars are deeply set

Moments of love and joy
when I first felt adoration
I treasure these bursts of warmth
find comfort in these sensations

Reliquishing these parts of me,
incidents that changed my heart?
It feels disloyal to scatter the ashes,
and tear my past apart...

Mementos of where I've been,
and who I am right now,
these people and places,
they serve a greater purpose
healing my soul from the inside out.

Yes, we can all learn from one another....people come together, it is said "for a reason, a season or a life-time"....and just because it has only been for a season...doesn't mean the experience shared was not meaningful/ worthwhile.
