Knowing

The mind can go around and around in circles forever, accentuating one thing, eliminating another, then vice versa, and another and another.
Can we only truly know something by paying attention to what we feel deep down within our hearts?
In divining truth, the mind becomes useless without the guidance of the higher self.

An examination of 'reality'

Whatever thought we have becomes in that moment our reality. Reality is a series of ever changing thoughts. Thoughts govern what it is we experience. A vast and complex series of senses make up their contribution to what we feel or perceive. Creation is a series of ever changing experiences within the perception of time.

Real Reality

What is more real, reality or the imaginary? If mind created reality, are the two really so different? I suppose that is the difference between 'this' reality is what defines something to be real is whether it took place in our consensus reality.
If we believe something to be true, it can seem just as real to us, as experiments with hypnosis have shown.

Reality:

Reality is what is perceived through the conditioned mind, or the mind that has been molded by past, present and future. Every persons' reality is different due to different conditioning. Reality the way humans see it depends entirely on time, and time is an illusion. Therefore, reality is also an illusion. Because REALITY...is A LIE, just like time.

Or is reality another the name for the eternal now? A real reality. Was this the reality Plato spoke of in his Allegory of the Cave, seen only by the Philosopher Kings?

I like that, Cancer/Scorpio729.

More to follow.

If anyone wants to add to the thread they are most welcome. I write a lot of this sort of thing so I decided to start trying to keep it all in one place. The inspiration comes and goes.

Understanding

"Free will" does not exist in the way people generally think it does. Human beings are not rational creatures. We are, all of us, governed by unconscious urgings that stem from each of our individual upbringings/ conditioning/ experiences. The only way that we break free of these is to become aware of them, and in this way, grow beyond them, choosing other ways, gaining wisdom.

Human beings think of themselves as so great because we have all this technology....yet there clearly is so much we do not understand, about ourselves.

I think realizing that the way we interact with each other is the result of the way each of us has been conditioned, and how each sees and feels...is a step toward learning not to get attached to the negative actions/ reactions that we sometimes experience in life with other people. It is only a result of each of our programming. It is due to our struggle to understand one another. Deep down, we all want the same. Happiness. Happiness with each other as we struggle to evolve in our co-creation.

Desensitization

I have a theory...our insensitivity as a species stems from how we use/ treat animals....sort of like if everything is interconnected and we only feel separate because our hearts and empathic abilities are closed......then each little way we behave has a knock on affect on other situations we have to react to.....therefore the sense of separations deepens to varying degrees amongst the diversity of each individual.

Happiness

Happiness is not only something we find. It is something we create. We can't just find happiness. We need to be happiness.

Finding happiness within and without are equally important.

sympathy for the devil (within)

Those who harm others fall into 2 categories I think. Those who cause harm unconsciously, without being aware of it, due to their own inward turmoil that do not have the ability to make sense of themselves.

The second category are those who do cause harm intentionally. They do this because they have forgotten the nature of their own soul.

Vehicles/ Skills....Madness/ Wisdom

One cannot drive a vehicle until one has acquired the required skill to drive that vehicle. One cannot be free until one has gained the skill to gain the required control of the Self.

The unwise parent blames the child for the child's unwanted behavior. Toddlers, for example, do not know how to verbalize what they feel. Often, the only way he. she is able to express his/ herself during times of transition or difficulty is through anger. A wise adult does not respond to the child's behavior in an angry way, but shows patience, and knows that what the child needs is to learn the required skill.

Perhaps the same could be said for anyone. This is not an easy life. This is a complex life, full of people born into the most vast array of different circumstances. Why do we judge each other so often? Why do people try to remedy one ill with an equally as destructive ill?
