Everyone loves an enemy. If no enemy exists, we'll make one; out of half-truths and projections. How else can you be a hero in your own mind? Here's how it's done: You've got to see the worst in someone, and do your best to bring it out. If it isn't there, invent it. Then just ignore everything else. Trust me, it works! Then think like this: If someone disagrees with you, well, clearly, they're the enemy. Put words in their mouth, and take away the words they say. Pretty soon you'll see a monster. If appearances suggest otherwise, just go ahead and ignore appearances! Tell yourself you see right through them; that is, blind yourself to what is there, and see only your wicked projections. I'm telling you, it works wonders!

I know, I know...Stylistically, it leaves much to be desired. But it makes a number of good thematic points. IP: Logged |

I was going to edit out my post elsewhere, because I was taking it off-topic, but I guess you got there first. I said I was surprised at the attitude, that's all. You lumped all American women together, and seemed to decide that it was all about women giving men hell, when in actual fact, it was pointers to help keep them from potential trouble/danger. I'm not trying to make an enemy out of you. I just felt genuinely surprised. IP: Logged |

More assumptions?I didn't have you in mind, teasel. This thread was inspired by T and her "Thieves and Goddesses" thread. And I didn't lump all American women together. I said "tend", as in tend. If I did choose poor wording, I apologize for the carelessness. I don't think all American women are that way, but I think the tendency is stronger in America. I'm just repeating an insight which was first reported to me by women. Not by men ordering mail brides. I realize you've had some bad experiences, and I forgive you for projecting onto me. You don't make a habit of it, like some people. IP: Logged |

Valus was banned today so he can't respond to your mean comment. Nice way to kick a friend when he's down. At least, someone who considered you his friend. That's all. IP: Logged |

I'm not making you feel anything. You feel what you feel. If you need to talk to your friend like that, do it where he can talk back to you. The ******** part comes in when you're posting to your friend on a public board where he can't respond to you. I'm not into the "he said, she said" routine so if you care to be fair, you will have to look at that yourself and have a two way conversation with your friend. It's not his words that provoke this insane backlash. It's the PERCEIVED intention behind them as you put it that sets people off. IP: Logged |

Yin, Valus asked to be banned and said his life would get better if he was kicked off the forum. That Randall was enabling him by letting him post here. So don't try to make people feel bad that he got himself kicked out and like he's sad about it or something. He got what he asked for. IP: Logged |

This is why I was going to edit my post in that thread. I was feeling too emotional, and it was the wrong thread for it, anyhow. IP: Logged |

I believe Valus' life will get much better without the projections of other's insecurities and jabs. There is a gift in every package. I wish him well.IP: Logged |

well, I wasn't projecting. I wasn't accusing him of being abusive, I pointed out the truth: that the only times I've heard that opinion about American women - or Western women in general - it came from someone who seemed to hate western women (there are groups of these guys), because they don't know their 'place'.It was the wrong thread for it, and I shouldn't have responded; I hate to think that he's hurting because I was stupid enough to respond to that post. I think that anyone who's banned, can post again after a few months. At least, that's been the case for PDF. IP: Logged |

Teasel, my comment was a generality, and I directed this statement, even as a reminder to myself, as I am the microcosm of the macrocosm in thought and action. I apologize if this wasn't clear. I care about you and your well being. IP: Logged |

I know what was said, T. But to say that Valus was "asking for it"? You and I both know that's abuser talk. Kind of ironic. And sad.IP: Logged |

i don't understand this. why was this inspired by t's poem? is this insinuation that her peom is a wicked projection? i thought it was quite lovely. v- if you are reading this, i am 100 percent sure her poem was not about you. just general truths of her discernment of intentions of people. t is not wicked, nor does she project. she has been through much and is making her way through this life the best she can, like the rest of us, and holding on to her grace and strength doing it too..showing all who see how beautiful she truly is INSIDE... i am proud of who she is.. Cpn, thanks. I also didnt understand why my poem got this kind of rise out of him. I even mentioned it to someone and was pretty puzzled, but said to myself "okay, whatever lol!!" and moved on and avoided. Mostly thought it was weird. I was wondering why he thought this had to do with him or anyone he knew in any way shape or form. Not every single thing I post here has to do with members here. I do have and have had a life outside of here. Some people believe it is all about them and need to step away from the computer for a bit.So, he did what he wrote about here in his poem. Projected and recently showed his negativity. It really didnt bother me and I havent read each line of it yet and probably wont. If I can inspire another person to express themselves - GREAT! I'm happy people won't have to go through the abuse here anymore. Some of us have had enough in our lives and don't need it here.IP: Logged |
