On a Monday the storms blew in so hard
randomly from the West.
But I got so high on nostalgia that day
I forgot to care.

It rained cats and frogs
furry, warted creatures laughing at me
from behind the hanging bedsheets,
which only got wet again
(useless things, they are)
and I thought of you
I thought of us
Setting fire to everything we made
Just to laugh and watch it burn.
There is no tomorrow in madness
there is only Right Now.

I thought of that Last Day
with you
your words a wooden stake between us
killing not my passion
but murdering my respect.
I remember making love, or whatever
it was we were making-
how it hurt and it healed and it started
something that was in the process of ending.

I clawed at your face
because it seemed if I could rip away your skin
it may reveal a truer picture.
But it only made your eyes blacker
and your grin more twisted.
The mask behind your mask was far more
frightening.
So, I sighed, and fell into your dimples.
It's two months later, and I'm just now coming up for air.

Lots of people fear thunderstorms--almost instinctively--like fearing spiders or snakes. I love them, though.

True. I suppose it's our caveman DNA remembering when a thunderstorm was alot more traumatic.
Personally, I think spiders or more traumatic, but, I'm not a caveman.

Yeah, we probably feared that we made the gods angry. Funny how DNA has memory. Nope, you are not a caveman. But if you camp out in a cave, that could make you a cavewoman...or a bat.

No inspiration, but I do like the rumblings...like a giant hungry tummy growling in the sky. Oh, I guess that's an inspirational thought.

And on that note, my tummy is growling for some breakfast.

Haha, inspiration is inspiration, and food IS art, so there you have it!
Reading that made me want chocolate chip pancakes...
not sure it was anything you said specifically, I think I just want chocolate pancakes, and you triggered it with the word "breakfast!"
