At the moment
concerning people
I am in love
with non-perfection.Seeing through
mirrors and masks
finding inwardly most-
tremble inside
like crackled glass. Women appear softer
and men I truly-
appreciate their patience. There are some infrequent days
stripped of the masquerade
I feel blessed to be-

Depth perception a most formidable element found in poetry, writing from the surface- just won't do! 
and a few thoughts..poetry has been a favorite medium of mine, mainly because there isn't any rules and such freedom persists within it. I shied away from any formal teaching having to do with the subject. By being taught I think the initial uniqueness is lost along the way, you end up going along with someone else's idea of structure, form, and their limitations. I've wrote at different poetry geared places online, some nice- some not so nice. I remember a place I shared at was pretty much all men which was no big deal-but then some began focusing exclusively on the sensual aspects of my work and making comments I wasn't comfortable with- needless to say I ended up checking out of there. I found it a shame within such a beautiful ancient art, some had the tendency to try to turn it into yet another dating site. The poetry was getting put on the back burner and the constructive reasoning to be there was diminishing. The lesson to be had though was trusting my feelings and discernment more readily from that experience.IP: Logged |
