Time Of Our Lives

Your first words were no ticky no!
As I tickled you slow,
Wriggling and squealing with laughter,
When you took you first steps
I smiled and was impressed,
That my little girl could stand on her own.

When you were just 3 years old,
You had the whole world,
As a fantasy and playground to explore
And when I had you all to myself,
In those moments of wealth,
We would share all our laughter and tears.

Now you’ve just turned six,
And you’re feigning being sick,
Cause it’s your big first day at school.
I crouched down on my toes,
Kissed your little nose,
And promised, to meet you right here when we go.

You were thirteen years,
Your face streaked with tears,
With what people thought of you,
I said be true to who you are,
And you’ll go far,
Don’t worry about such trivial things.

You’re just 18 now,
And wondering how,
The world is not what it seemed,
You may get lies and deceit,
From some you meet,
But I promise you’ll always have me.

When you can’t cope,
I will offer you hope,
And safety in the crook of my arms,
Maybe it’s not much,
But you’ve got all my love,
And I’ll wrap it round your heart to keep it safe.

21 years have passed,
With your first broken heart,
And you feel like the world’s going to end,
I’ll say shhh my dear,
As I hold you near,
And whisper that lame joke that makes you laugh.

I taught you the value of love,
Of care and honesty,
All which you returned to me,
I taught you to let your tears fall,
Laugh like you don’t care at all,
And you taught me to be free,
Most important on this Earth,
I taught you your self worth,
And not to ever settle beneath,

So you’re 30 years grown,
Become the Woman I’ve known,
You could always be all my life,
You may have a family of your own,
And a house to call home,
But you’ll always be my little girl.

You’re 40 now,
And settled down,
And ask, “How did you manage with me?”
"It was tough at times,
But you are mine,
And I wouldn’t change it at all.

I can’t imagine a world,
Without my little girl,
Her shining bright little eyes,

As I watch you unfurl,
My tiny baby girl,
Laying in the palms of my hands,

I hold you tight,
I know your future is bright,
I whisper, “We’re going to have the time of our lives.”

This gets me right here pointing to
Very touching. "And when I had you all to myself,
In those moments of wealth, We would share all our laughter and tears." It seems those treasure troves of time are never forgotten.

Oh! I love it, Swift Freeze... You've captured the snapshot of a tiny dream and made her real for us. You nourished her in the cozy cocoon of your arms, and the most loving and safest thoughts... How lucky for a girl to have an adoring Dad like that. And how lucky for a Dad who possesses an awakened Eye, Endearing heart, and a magical poetic pen to scribe her memories! This is a gift for her.... lives on in the ethers.

Though she is now grown, the tides of your adoring thoughts and care are alive energetically in soul and cell memory... Love remains actively imprinted to be tapped with all its original freshness for all time and eternity.... What Bliss!
