Aloft shades of umber
embow earthy forests
beneath clustered tree topsIdyllic vicissitudes
becloud and shadow
as golden rods play
hide and seek
above prismatic dregs Lush new and ancient growth
seen tapering away
drawn inward for rest
by the last austral rays Sensory contractions
descry nature's cues
while ablaze melds of color
display autumnal views. *one of my favorite seasons to poem about

It is a beautiful poem. Very rich and colourful. And autumn hasn't arrived here yet.
Why or how do sensory contractions descry nature's cues? Is it a metaphore to giving birth? To senses whose sensitivity is so hightened so the cues of nature are lost on them? Forgive me for the questions. It was very pleasant to read, I just like to make sure I understood it all...  , though that may never really happen in a poem, because of the different layers...

 I've been thinking about you a lot in the past few weeks. Hope everything is good?Good Luck with in-coming waters from Hurricane Florence, to hit North Carolina on Thursday 9/14, right now at CatForce winds of 4!!!!  YIKES??!!! I know some people think, oh, that's too far away?? But I know differently!!!  Let us know how things go...

Hi Mirage,
Everything is good thanks for asking and thinking of me. Yes definitely looks like quite a hurricane is approaching. My parents thankfully are back here in Ohio. Prayers for all it affects though. Although it’s a somber day 9/11

* my Autumn poems.. all kind of sound alike.. as I feel the same each year & love the Autumn season. Glad something comes into mind though- these busy days Peaceful rendition of life betides
as summer’s scape tenors away Renewal brings form, emergent with color
familiar and fervent like love’s taction The natural onset a bewildering vision
birth not a month, but rather a season An embrace, never too late or hasty
existing between warm and cold Contentment sprays radiants of scarlett and gold
