We’re the same my friend
Living with fear, living with sin
And building walls of separation
For nothing but prideWe lived in the wastelands
We fought in the wars
We made a revolution
But it ended in tears
And I cried for the blind
For the forsaken and scorned
And you, you let emotions
To corrupt your soul
And the blood dripped on the rivers
Peace was broken on the hills
I saw it all as a soldier
How the world can make you ill
We’re the same my friend
With our ordeals and trials
Haven’t we learned from our heroes
Who turned out dumb and blind
We gathered the treasures
We had a success
Then it turned into failures
And a world full of mess
We were one with the land
Then we turn into slaves
To create segregation
With hate on our lives
And the poet died on the last chapter
After he wrote “democracy’s over”
The world was filled with hatred
And the dictator has finally won
We’re the same my friend
Even with disgrace or denial
God made us equals
Our pride made us foes
