What it feels to be free
When freedom barely exist
There are chains all over the globe
Between the employees and their jobs
Between the lovers and their bonds
Between the animals and the humans
We’re all tied somehow
But how does it feel, the sense of independence
Is it sleeping on your own, is it the cash flowing
Is it the amount of dreams you pursuit
When the dreamer is sleeping in his office
Waiting for the bell to ring
And even if you’re alone, you’re still yearning for someone
And if you have money, it goes through the house and the children
Yeah, I’m being pessimistic, a negative creep
But I don’t negate freedom, I can’t deny it
You can’t enslave, repress or deny
To no one, not at all
Deny freedom is one of the most dreadful sins
But religions deny freedom
They deny pleasure, deny the spread of knowledge
And religions destroy monuments
Sacred buildings of mankind
The Buddha’s and the mosques
The temples in the distant jungles
All for a denial of freedom
But in the end, don’t negate freedom
Don’t deny your son to play in the garden
Don’t deny your daughter to live on her own
Don’t deny your enemy the chance to make amends
Don’t deny the fool the chance to learn
Don’t deny the junkie for his weekly round
Don’t deny the prostitute her thrive for sex
Don’t deny yourself to make an erroneous step
And don’t be denied after all
Cause we’re all free, in this enslaved world
But still I have these questions, and I’m curious
I can’t negate when I want to ask
What it feels to be free
I still haven’t learn it
Maybe I’ll found it
After some years in the grave

Reading some Leonard Cohen poems makes me have a writing spur.

From the first posts you've done here, I just knew you'd like the work of Leonard Cohen!

"Don’t deny yourself to make an erroneous step" Yes!!!!

NOW, LFDX... you'll know how to negotiate and move upon that Dance Floor of Life.

Saw your other postings, LFDX!

I'm glad you had your wonderful short time with her. She taught you some good things about yourself. And you got some words as treasures from that experience.

The Leonard Cohen song, I thought, "fits" more of the kind of energy that you seem to desire in your relationships. You want someone for the LONG journey. (Watch the vid, it's about elders... long-term marrieds and committeds. Sweet and sad at the same time.)

Know that you are NOW one-person-closer, one more encounter richer, to and for that special one you'll be with some day. {{Cheers!}}
