A Poem to My Beloved

Is the man I seek alive? Am I?
So many secrets to hold.
I am the aquarium for many a passing thought,
trapped in between here and the ocean,
looking for a way out, and thus
revealing themselves.
I would rather be
anonymous at sea
than known to all in your bedroom.

I am so small, I can't see you.
Are you even alive, my God?

I can feel your hand,
pulling me out of the water
for your pleasure.
I was the thought.

A big wave came upon me.

I loved the line, "I would rather be anonymous at sea." It radiates a bewitching almost mystical and solemn tone to me.

Keep writing! You are a wonder

Wonderful....
It's mystical.
Aquariums... and oceans.

So GOOD to see you writing again!
I love your work.

Ayelet... I don't understand why your writings/poems affect me like they do. You probably are not writing 'mystically' ... but, I remember even from our first posts here, that there's 'something' about the way you write that causes me lift, and think very deep, inspirationally!!

My Beloved.....

Reminds me of several things. One is a Rumi poem, the other a song from a musical.

(music) Rumi, read by Madonna (sufi dancer) [3:45] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3sMlZvDJ94

Song of Solomon
Found this video on a Hebrew Love Poem called 'Song of Solomon' (in old testament bible). Gives a rapidly paced clear breakdown of how this book is written/constructed.

(topic) Song of Solomon ('Read Scripture', book explained in illustrations) [6:58] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KC7xE4fgOw

This is a very passionate recital of the poem.

Notes indicates this is traditionally read during the week after Passover.

(topic) Song of Solomon (read aloud {old recording}, fantasy art photography) [18:42] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UKpXl9O31w
