And you didn't blink an eye...
Or even cry
You chose your pride
You chose your fear
And cast aside
what could've been
You could've loved me
One day you could've had
A love so true...
Just me and you
The laughs, the smiles
The sharing of each day
All thrown away
I would've given you
Everything I had
I would've stuck with you
Through the good times and
the bad
I would've held you
Till the storms of life would pass...
And never let you go
I would've trusted you
I would've never let you down
I would've stayed with you
No matter how tough the times
would get
I would've loved away your every fear

I should have

We could've had
What poets write about
We could've shared
What people dream of all their lives
We could've felt
Something so very rare...
But you didn't care
We could've had everything

We should have.
