In addition to lexigrams - my personal favorite - I've discovered a dictionary also makes a wonderful oracle. What is your favorite oracle?Hopeful IP: Logged |

I use Gooberz. It makes me feel as if Linda is giving me answers to my questions. I concentrate and then open up a page. Always works! Some people do the same with the Bible. Or a book of quotes. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Hi Hopeful Is that because it helps you with lexing? The more words you know? Sue IP: Logged |

People should realize that Tarot Cards work the same way! There not really mysterious, your mind is responsible for channeling any kind of oracle.-StarLover

Hi Starlover You must have been reading my mind I've been thinking that we should start a string about The Tarot. It would be great if you would like to start one I only know "bits and pieces" about The Tarot but I do find it totally fascinating. Sue IP: Logged |

Hi, I think a Tarot string would be great. Although I don't think my ability to do readings would be any good for others. But I do believe there are people at this site who do a lot off good with the Tarot.-StarLover IP: Logged |

I use the Tarot as an oracle. Actually, I let a card fall out of the deck and it becomes my portal to the other realm, where I seek my answers. ------------------ Hugs,LTD ~~The struggle keeps us young~~Daring to make mistakes and knowing there are none.~~DGM IP: Logged |

Queen - What Randall said is the way to use a dictionary as an oracle. Hold it in your hands - concentrate on on a question - then open it to a page and let your finger find a word with your eyes closed. I read about this method in "When Oracles Speak" by Skafte - an interesting read!Sue - you wouldn't believe how many times my lexi's send me to the dictionary to look up a word! Hopeful IP: Logged |

You are SO right about the dictionary Sue! I remembered another oracle I've tried to use a bit - also read about it in that book I mentioned. CLOUDS! On my last mini-vacation, I was driving and looked out at the sunset. I saw clouds forming a Grail with an Angel right next to it!!! It was spectacular. Hopeful IP: Logged |

I use the "Good News" bible. As I`m studing Spiritualism, I have found it to be so right on. My intuitition/higher s-elf has been very accurate. I never really studied the O.T. and thats where I`m ending up... prophets, oracles and visions. . juniperb IP: Logged |

Recently I've been trying various crystals in pendulum divination. Anyone had success with this oracle? If so, how long did it take you to "bond?"Hopeful IP: Logged |

well I'm not sure if you mean the same thing...But I scry with a crystal ball or mirror. I also enjoy tarot cards a great deal! And again! I've found Angel tarot cards a good oracle - they're beautiful too. As well as that - my angel guides are the best oracles, I ask and I'm shown ------------------ "The past is history, the future is a mystery, & this moment is a gift.. that's why it's called 'the present'." I like the I Ching. I haven't really studied it, per se.....I use a coin toss then turn to the hexagram and kind of read between the lines. They have online I Ching readings too--they interpret for you. The I Ching, or Book of Changes, by Wilhelm/Baynes (Bollingen Series XIX) comes highly recommended. (There might be a later edition--mine is quite old and I haven't been buying books in awhile.) I don't know if this book is still in print or available...but it made doing the I Ching and Tarot a lot less intimidating to me decades ago... Ah, a thread on Oracles...one of my very favourite things .Following the dictionary, Gooberz, book idea, I love it when you go to a library and just walk up to a shelf, pull out a book (any book) and turn to a page and read it. I have a varied collection of book of differing spiritual topics and quite often if I'm stuck on something, I'll just go to my own bookshelf and pull out a book and start reading it. Wow, it's just amazing that it is usually just what you needed to read at the time. Or like when you haven't seen a friend in a while and when you meet, they give you a book and say, I found this book and thought you might like to read it. I love books, they are a weakness of mine. With regard to other oracles....let's talk about cards. I read both Tarot and Oracle decks. I actually prefer Oracle decks because I feel that you are able to intuit more from them. Some of the tarot decks are steeped in symbolism and I don't really like all of that. I have a Fortune Card deck by Titania. It was the first deck of cards I bought. I really like to use it. There are only 36 cards and they are pretty easy to learn. Titania created them based on Madame Le Normand's fortune cards. But Titania's put a really modern adaptation on them. I have a Le Normand deck too. If I have to do a "love" reading I use another Oracle deck called "The Love Pack". 84 cards - illustrated in cartoon-style. Lovely to read with and easy to learn. They were designed by a Doctor (can't remember if he is a Psychologist or a Psychiatrist, I think the former). Anyhow, he also has another deck that I have called "The Enlightenment Pack". Then I also have Runes, Philospher Stones, Animal Spirit Stones, two pendulums (one crystal, one gold), a crystal ball, um, I'm sure there are other things...oh yeah, an two angel decks, five tarot decks.....okay, that's enough to tell you all about for now. purple_scorp IP: Logged |
