This is kinda hard to explain. I *randomly* got some runes a couple years ago (not last summer but the summer before), and tried them out using only some descriptions found on-line for my own interpretations. I cast them, thinking that not much would come of it - the problem being that each 3-rune casting was dead-on. I kept posing situation after situation, and all were right (even if I didn't want them to be ... grrr ). That same night, I cast for others in the apt (although I made them pick their own; I've found since that they're not accurate w/ me if I don't do so), and w/ each w/i a few days I had the same people come back and say, "You were exactly right..." So - I cast, but I probably don't do so correctly; but, I guess it doesn't really matter all that much since they never seem to be wrong. It's actually gotten to the point where I dislike casting on important matterst b/c I don't want to know what they'll have to say. I kept getting stuff like "conflict, disaster, malaise, depression, etc" for the "future" when posing about the college that I was going to go to (and have since left due to severe depression); any time I was casting for a family member or friend and they were upset b/c their answers weren't what they wanted to hear, I'd say, "Hey - wanna see something funny? I guarantee that the next casting will end 'badly'," and I'd cast for my college situation. Buuut I'm just rambling now b/c I'm avoiding getting ready for school. I'm pretty sure that I didn't write anything remotely useful. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.Corri

I have Runes that were specially made for me years ago but I've never used them. I'm curious to try, though, now that I'm studying their patron gods and goddesses =)IP: Logged |

A very powerful Witch handmade me a set of runes.....down to the handpainting of each one, consecrating the velvet and silk bag she made, as well.....*sigh* but I still don't know how to use them. Don't even know where to look for instruction. *sigh*------------------ Hugs,LTD ~~The struggle keeps us young~~Daring to make mistakes and knowing there are none.~~DGM IP: Logged |

hi... i read somewhere that its better to make your own runes rather than buy them... so ive decided to make my own I went on some sites online and there are 24 stones, which consist of viking alphabets and every alphabet has a symbol. so, i bought some pebbles and am painting them purple and sea green, my favourite colours, next i plan to paint the alphbets in golden paint and then varnish them so it lasts longer. lets see how it goes... I personally dont think it is necessary for anybody to 'teach' you anything. experience is the best teacher. I believe in the trial and error method. You can check out these sites: http://www.tarahill.com/runes/ http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/vikings/runesright.html http://www.isholf.is/gardarj/folk/runes.htm or simple search for 'runes' in google.
