Hello everyone! I have recently been getting into the Tarot, but I have a little difficulty interpreting the meanings of the specific cards. I recently asked the question "What did my father wish to tell me?" and I received the following 3-card spread:

7 of Cups: Synthesis
3 of Cups: Thesis
4 of Pentacles: Antithesis

Any insight you could provide would be greatly appreciated! Also what exactly does the antithesis card represent? I was told that it represents the "cons" of the given question/outcome, but I don't quite understand what that means. Thanks so much!

Sincerely,
divinia

Greetings Divinia...

As I have stated, I do not intend this Tarot Forum to be a place to request personal readings... between my work and studies, my plate is sufficiently full.

That being said.. if anyone would like to offer specific interpretations, please feel free to do so.

In terms of your 3 card spread, I am not familiar with that terminology, I tend to be more of a free-form reader of the Tarot.

My general impression here is that either your father is not currently in physical form, or the prompting for this message came in a dream. One other possibility, is that there is something clouding or confusing your ability to get his message.

Have you siblings, particularly sisters? Have you been at odds with one or more of them? Is there perhaps an issue of financial import or perhaps inheritance that has caused a rift in your relationship?

What I see, regardless of the details is simply this: try to resolve a family rift between you and your sibling(s). Withholding love or support based in a "poverty consciousness" (i.e. one of the parties involved is hoding on to something that another feels may be rightly theirs be it actual property or something of sentimental value) is wreaking havoc. It would seem that your father, is trying to urge a reconcilliation.

Perhaps there is a family function or party coming up that is causing some emotional difficulty due to some past dissention over "goods or property or cash", and the advice is to open the pathway to communications and resolution. The material stuff, is not worth the confusion or emotional distress.

Hope that helps some. Any other knowflakes have any ideas?

Blessings...
A

Dear Aselzion:

Thank you so much for your interpretation. I am sorry for asking here. I did not realize that it was improper.

You are indeed correct that my father is no longer here on the earth plane. He died 3 years ago, almost to the day. As he was dying, he looked like he desperately wanted to tell me something but could not. I had a Tarot reading done soon after (2 months), but I felt like the reader's interpretation was greatly skewed because I was not who he thought I was when he first saw me.

When I received this reading the other day, I felt like it had validity. I came up with a few interpretations of my own, but I am not well versed in the Tarot yet and felt like I could benefit from outside interpretation. Thank you very much for your assistance!

Sincerely,
divinia
