HELLO there everyone

I am new on this forum.
I want to know if a person can do Tarot with an ordinary set of cards. If so, how and what descriptions are there for different types of cards i.e queen, king, ten etc?
Thanx Moondreamer

Playing cards were a way to hide Tarot readings. If you use them, use them only for divination.

Greetings Moondreamer...

Sorry to be exploring this a month after you originally wrote, but such is my timing these days.

Reading ordinary playing cards is not only possible, but has been elevated to an artform by some individuals.

There are several good books out on the market that discuss such readings... as I have learned the Tarot I tend to stick with what I know, so I don't often read playing cards... but have been known to use them when they were the only thing at hand.

I tend to prefer Tarot because it includes the Higher Arcana or the more spiritual aspect of the Tarot. These cards represent the universal Laws, the powers behind the throne, so to speak. The only vestige of the Higher Arcana that remains in the ordinary deck of cards is The Fool, who has been re-named the Joker in the regular deck.

He represents ALL of Us... the Soul incarnating on the physical plane.

Hope this helps a bit, and sorry it took me so long to get here..

Peace and Blessings...
A
