I have recently been thinking of what is to come for my life....things seem to go in a relative pattern but the more I try to figure it out and adapt to issues and grow, the more complicated the story gets....I trouble with indesition because of emotional content that I tend to put to much faith in or sometimes not enough.....I have many questions but most importantly I would like to know if Love is near or if I should bide my time longer??Also I have heard that buying your own Tarot Cards is a mistake....is this true??? if so who should get them for me??? I never heard about buying your own. Has anyone else? ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

Greetings...Popeye... welcome to LindaLand. There is a tradition that states that it is particularly good luck to have someone give you a Tarot deck. I have never had a problem buying my own and I've been reading them since I was in 7th or 8th grade. (many moons ago) I think that it's pretty essential to look through all of the decks you can find, by all the various artists, and find one that resonates with you. This doesn't always happen if you wait around for someone to gift you a deck... what talks to them simply may not talk to you.. so I say go ahead and buy your own. Bright Blessings... okay I will buy my own......thanks for the warm welcome Aselzion....I have read posts where people have had questions and they were answered buy a Tarot reading done buy another....I was thinking that there might be somewhat of a negation or dulling of the accuracy because there is no other communication or exchange of energy other than written words....what do you think?? There are those who say that the Petitioner must touch the cards. What's your thought on this, A? ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Greetings...I think having the querent touch the cards, shuffling them or at least picking them individually out of a line-up on the reading table is ideal. I think when this is not possible, such as in doing a reading over the phone or through the mail or even over the internet, the results will be equally as valid if the question is asked sincerely. The cards are a tool to help the reader tune into that realm where all information is available. As such, having a person touch them will add a more personal vibration to the reading and help the reader to "hone in" on the individual. But again, this is not necessary... one would assume that the method of conveying the question would have the same effect of assisting the reader to "tune in". Popeye... Personally I cannot respond to all the requests for readings that such a forum can generate, as I have a regular job and am involved in some fairly time consuming esoteric studies... anyone who would like to do a reading here is welcome.. and often I will chime in, sort of like a psychic Siskel and Ebert. Best wishes and Blessed Be... A ------------------ "The ALL is MIND; the Universe is Mental." *** The Kybalion IP: Logged |

I understand Aselzion, Keep up your studies...they have obviously payed off!! Have eather of you had success with the Star Cards that have been made in dedication to Linda?? Or heard of them??? they look really interesting but are much different from Tarot Cards.....they represent #'s 1-33 and the planetary vibrations that influence them. I am going to start with these...they feel right...I was just curious as to what your ideas on them were. IP: Logged |

Outspoken A, what do you say? ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

Greetings...I'll say what I always say... if they speak to you then use them, if not then don't. They will "work" to the degree that they allow you to listen to that "wee small voice within". Or what some would call your intuition, which is nothing more than Inner Hearing. Personally, I have a set of them, and havent really touched them since I bought them.. I think they are a bit "dark" for my taste... but this probably just means that the artist and I are on different wavelengths. What do you think? In the Light... hi popeye ~i love tarot cards, although i know very little about reading them. i've had several decks, mostly for their artistic and symbolic value. one deck i recently purchased, which i find intriguing and fun, is the inner child deck. it uses as its symbology fairy tales -- the very deep meanings submerged in fairy tales. and not simplistic at all....very rich and complex. the following link will do a 1 or 3 card reading for you...just click on the inner child card image. hi ~i'm so glad you liked them.... they are packaged with a very large and in-depth book that gives lots of basic info on tarot in general....and there is an advanced second volume available as well, so they definitely are worth while.... IP: Logged |
