Hi everyone,
Aselzion you inspired me to get my own tarot deck. Like I said before I know the universe gives answers and maybe the answer was for me to get a deck to guide myself. Any way just wanted to share my tarot excitement!!!!! Now i'll start reading all the wonderful info on this Tarot forum.

Greetings...

Congratulations.

It's a wonderful tool, for divination, meditation and spiritual evolution.

What deck did you get?

Enjoy, and feel free to ask questions anytime.

Hi Aselzion,
Sorry it took me so long to respond...busy week. Anyway I got the fairy ring deck, It's not the traditional tarot deck. I don't know some of my readings for myself are not really informative enough, maybe i should also get a traditonal tarot deck as well.
When you say tarot is wonderful for meditation what do you mean? Anyway i'll probably have a lot more questions for you!!!
Thanks-Jupter-

i have a new tarot deck also.
and i posted here because it really is like a 'new first' deck to me.
i have many decks, but have never really 'done' tarot.
but this deck is so attuned to me, i feel it, and it shows me things.....

i love it so so so!

it's 'the sacred circle tarot' and it's not traditional either, but the meanings are more real for me.

as for correspondences, i'll just check here with Aeslzion's amazing words and compare notes.

lots of learning in the stars!

Greetings...

Well, one of the uses of the Higher Arcana is as a tool for meditation.

You begin by choosing one card to work with per week. Then you really look at all the symbolism on the card. It's kind of like getting to know a new friend.

Spend only about 5 minutes at the beginning. Just look at the card. At some point you may want to close your eyes, and allow the image of that card to come onto the screen of your mind's eye.

Do this for about a week... one card at a time, mind. You may want to make notes of any thoughts that occur to you while you are studying the card.

In this way, you begin to imprint your subconsciousness with the images of the Tarot (which as Linda has said... it really already knows).

As you learn more about the Taort, you may use these cards to invoke certain qualities... for example, if you need to really focus your attention on something, you might meditate upon the Magician. His pose is one of focus and concentration.

Does that help at all... or clear as mud?

It is a start... and that is where the magic begins.

In the Light...

Aselzion,
Thank you so much for that valuable info, I haven't been on line for about a week so that's why it took me a while to respond, sorry.
So wow what you were saying sounded amazing. If I study one card for five minutes everyday I become more more connected to the cards, cool!!
I do have a question, when does the tarot begin to speak to you? What I mean by this is when does one begin to see more in the card than just the written meaning?
I know when I've been read before by a good reader, I"ve noticed they almost seem to get images of my past, present, and future!!!!
Well thanks a lot for the informative knowledge.-Jupiter-

Greetings...

Jupiter... hard to say when the cards begin to "talk" to you... perhaps the better question is when are you ready and receptive to listening?

What I mean by that is... when you are doing a reading, and concerned with remembering the meanings of each card, and trying to make them "fit" into a cohesive story, you are too busy "working" to actually "listen".

When you are comfortable with the cards, when you are not "married" to the outcome of the reading, but instead interested only in being of service and acting as a channel for information will you be in the place where the cards will "speak" to you.

I've been reading the cards for about 28 years, and still they don't always talk to me. It really can happen any time.. the only requisite is patience and a willingness to allow the circumstance. I think when we are overly "involved" in wanting to give a "good reading", we shut down our intuition, so better to approach with an attitude of grateful service, asking the Universe (God/dess, The All) to use you as an instrument for delivering the information the client needs to hear. In that way, you take yourself out of the reading...

Best to be really comfortable with what you think each card means before you attempt this... but, if you are really intuitive and receptve.. the "meanings" don't matter as much as their ability to call forth words of healing, or peace or in some cases caution from the "collective Mind".

Did you know that Intuition really means "Inner Hearing"?

Hope that helps...

In the Light...
