Before I even ask the queston, I'd just like to thank Aselzion again for ispiring me to get into the tarot. The experiences I've been having with the cards are really quite incredible. It seems to me that the cards are talking to me astrologically. The question that I have been meditating with involves me and two other people. So far each card that has been drawn has matched each of our sunsigns. The 7 of cups came up in my reading and that makes perfect sense b/c it represents venus in scorpio. My venus is in scorpio !!!!
The knight of wands has also come up.... this is a little to coincidental. The knightof wands I now know represents Sagittarius (thanks to Aselzion's explanation of tarot and astrology). I am a Sagitarrius !!!! When I was meditating on the card before I even knew the astrological correspondence, I picked up feelings of a journey or adventure. That makes sense to me since Sagitarrius is associated with journey and adventure.
I'd like to know more about what the knight of wands represents? Anyone's insight or knowledge would be greatly aprreciated.
-Thanks-

Greetings...

I'm glad I was able to inspire you to pick up the Tarot, I think its value is quite often misunderstood, and it certainly is underused as a method of spiritual development.

In terms of the Knight of Wands: well it can be a person born under any of the Fire signs (Aries, Leo or Sagittarius) who is in their young adulthood or unmarried. (that can be Sun/Moon/Ascendant or MidHeaven in one of those aforementioned Fire signs) The coloring tends to fair or reddish hair, light eyes and a fiery, warm temperament. Reversed, the temperament could be prone to hot temper and anger issues. The eternal child who wants to get his own way... all the time. "I don't wanna grow up"...

It can represent striking off and leaving home for the first time, as in going away to college, or moving/relocating for a job. The idea is the embracing of freedom and striking out on one's own.

When not representing people, this card can represent new business/work or educational opportunities.

Inverted, delays in these matters, or again a childish, rather than childlike fiery temperament.

As always though, the real interpretation of this card will be determined by the cards around it in a spread.

And people cards MAY represent an aspect of the querent's own personality rather than another person... so this again would be determined in context.

Hope that helps...

Blessings...
A

Aselzion,
Thank you for the beautiful explanation of this card. I was laughing a bit while reading what you had to say about the knight of wands. Mainly b/c this card would represent me in my reading.
The physical description of the knight of wands would fit my physical description. I have a fiery temperment. My sun and moon are both in Sagittarius. Plus I'm embarrased to say but their still is that childish part of me that comes out every so often.
This has definitly helped me out. I'm a bit amazed of the Tarot's accuracy. Thanks so much for answering me back on this.
