I am very drawn to The Empress. I find this card to be both intiguing and beautiful. Being new to the tarot I'd like to know if anyone could tell me the meaning of The Empress both in the upright position and the reversed position? -Thanks- JupiterIP: Logged |

Greetings...The Empress will be the next Higher Arcnan card considered in the slow moving but still kicking online Tarot symposium. In brief The Empress represents fertility, abundance and all things home and hearth-like. It can represent anything where growth is in question, particularly family, but business, financial, artistic and creative growth are also indicated. It represents right use of the Creative Imagination faculty. Inverted the Empress can show decline. Difficulties in family relationships, mother - child bonds being tested or even fertility issues or female health issues, if near other cards that represent health matters. Here it would bot be uncommon to see difficulties in business matters or financial issues, again if near other cards that indicate such matters. Hope that helps a wee bit. Blessings... Aselzion, Thanks once again for your interpretation. You really have a gift with this!!! I'm so interested in all of the card interpretations. I hope I don't annoy anyone by asking about the different meanings of the tarot cards. I have a feeling I'll be posting on this thread a lot. Once again thanks and it's very kind of you to have responded with such depth. -Jupiter-

To anyone who can help:This card almost always comes up (upright because I'm using a computer program) when I ask how I can best help my son who has autism. I'm not sure what it represents in relation to him....Nature and the senses, Mother, etc. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Divinia~ When I was pregnant with my daughter, I'd do tarot readings about whether she'd be a girl, amoung other things.. I know it can't truly answer a yes or no, but I took clues from the cards I'd get. I got The Empress over and over. Countless readings, that was the card to represent motherhood, the feminine, and my abundant feelings regarding the health of my pregnancy. The Empress truly represented hopes and fears for me, and I was assured afterwards, with a healthy baby girl, that the comfort I was seeking was offered as assurance from this particular card. If you were worried about the future, in relation to being a strong mother and embracing the roles you were given, I'd be more concerned if you got something from the suit of swords.. like the nine or ten.... or even The Tower.. Cards which indicate your own stability wavering and your un/conscious self needing help. The fact that you get this strong feminine principle card, when relating to your son, tells me you are both going to be just fine. The roles are perfect and you are both strong enough in spirit to help each other. The Empress, in relation to your children, is a very positive one. Good for you.IP: Logged |

Thank you, pixelpixie, for your response. I do worry about my son, especially regarding the role I play, and I appreciate your words of encouragement. My mother always said that raising children is the hardest thing anyone could ever do because they don't come with an instruction manual. I can definitely see the truth behind that bit of humor. ------------------ Sincerely, divinia What wisdom can you find that is greater than kindness? -- Jean-Jacques Rousseau IP: Logged |
