Greetings...Dear fellow Know-Flakes.... I have been very busy between leaving a frustrating job (and working to find a new one) and my personal studies that I have been remiss in my postings here. I have recently been asked to do some teaching for The League of Cabot Witches in Salem, MA. So this has pretty much added more to my already full plate. I do check in frequently when I can, but my time has become compromised... I have NOT forgotten about our online Tarot class.. and hopefully will be able to get back on track with that in the near future. Please keep the Tarot questions coming (again, please, NO requests for readings) and I will do my best to reply in a reasonable manner. Thank you all for your patience, and again... my sincere apologies... In L.V.X. Eternal... A ------------------ "The ALL is MIND; the Universe is Mental." *** The Kybalion IP: Logged |

Greetings...And thank you all for the support! Since I last wrote: I had an interview for a temporary job as a visiting nurse which I will start next week. This job should last through the remainder of the summer, depending upon the needs of the company. Now... approx. 2 - 3 weeks ago, I had made a call to a local hospital to see if they were hiring/training nurses to go into the OR (operating room). I got the basic: "well, not at the moment, but if you send your resume, I'll forward it to the head of that department..." spiel, and I thought it was pretty much a done deal. This Tuesday or Weds (I can't recall which and my book is in the other room), I got a call saying, "we're planning to start a training program for the OR, and would like to have you in for an interview". Well, you could have knocked me down with a feather... So, in addition to starting the temp job next Weds, I have an interview on Tuesday for a new permanent job that is slated to start in September. It's all about ordaining and Light! Thank you again, and many blessings upon all of you. Blessed Be... A ------------------ "The ALL is MIND; the Universe is Mental." *** The Kybalion IP: Logged |

Hello, A, and contratulations on your new job May I ask what will you be teaching at the Cabot Witches League? Will you teach the courses of Witchcraft as a Science or does only Laurie Cabot do that? Thanks. IP: Logged |

Greetings...Thank you all again! Lilith... In terms of the League of Cabot Witches and their curriculum, Witchcraft I and II: Witchcraft as a Science is currently being taught by Laurie Cabot and her students Mike and Robin. Though I am fairly well versed in different esoteric arts/sciences, Witchcraft is a new perspective for me.. or at least as presented by the Cabot Tradition. When I took Witchcraft 1, Laurie was unable to teach following a knee injury which required surgical repair, and that is where I met Mike and Robin, High Priest and High Priestess of the Cabot Tradition. I will be doing a Tarot course for them in the near future and possibly some Astrological workshops, if the interest is there for that sort of thing. I have also proposed an evening workshop on The Emerald Tablet, which is under consideration, but that is a bit more advanced than the basics and requires some bit of Tarot/Astrology and Hermetic doctrine to really comprehend. In terms of the nursing jobs... well, there are plenty of jobs, but I find that my forte is NOT at the bedside... I have several planets in the 8th house which draws me to the surgical end of things; as well as end of life issues.. but that is specialized work and I am not at the place yet where I want to pursue that facet of nursing, though I do see it down the road for me. So, though I have been getting many offers, after 3 years of floor nursing, I am opting to explore other avenues, and that is where the delays have come in! Also, I find that many males in nursing do not tend to STAY on the med/surg floors for long as they seem to prefer the ER, OR and ICU. At least that is my perception, and my choice in direction. Bright Blessings in the Light... A P.S. For more information about the Cabot Tradition and the League of Cabot Witches, please see this link: http://www.leagueofcabotwitches.com/main.html BB... A

Thank you, A, for the link. I've already done some research on the Google after I read your post and I visited the site - very interesting. I read Laurie's book a long time ago and hope to attend some of the Cabot League courses some day. It is now 11:11 as I am writing this Wishing you light and luck on your path, L. IP: Logged |

Greetings...Xelena... Thank you for asking! One did go well and I am now currently orienting to do visiting nurse til the end of the summer at least, with 3 guranteed days a week and possibly more if I'm liking it and the need is there. I also did have an interview for an OR job, that would place me in a 14 week certification course in Perioperative Studies... doesn't that sound official? It is just a matter of time before I hear about that one, and it is not slated to start until about the middle of September, so perhaps the Universe is conspiring for me to be in the right place at the right time... I will let you know about the Emerald Tablet. I have done much spiraling on that and find much astrological/Tarot and Qabalistic food for thought as well as some magical mathematics for good measure. Laurie thinks it is interesting stuff.. but is unsure how many people have the necessary background at this point to make that a viable workshop. Like anything else, it would seem that there are more tyros out there than true students, but we shall see what we shall see. Blessed Be... A P.S. As always, Laurie and I both recommend The Kybalion as prerequisite reading for Witchcraft as a Science, and certainly for anything pertaining to Hermetic Studies, such as The Emerald Tablet ------------------ "The ALL is MIND; the Universe is Mental." *** The Kybalion IP: Logged |

hi there, A -glad to hear your work situation is looking up. i admire that you've found something you love to do. i have a friend who just passed her RN test and is working a pediatric ward at MassGen. it sounds so challenging - umm, dealing with the other nurses, that is. what is this word "tyros" that you used? i haven't heard it before. is it like "poser"? i'll take your advice on The Kybalion. i found two sites that have made it available on-line. probably good enough for a start. so, thanks. i hope the PeriOp training works out, too. a life of learning is a full life lived. x

Greetings...Xelena... What a tactful way to say that some nurses have a tendency to DEVOUR THEIR YOUNG! Yes, that is primarily why I am looking to get off the floors, they are overrun with nursing barracudas. In no sexist way at all do I mean this.. but to be one of the few men in a female dominated profession, one sees first-hand the differences between the sexes when it comes to dealing with conflict situations. Tyro: beginner. One who doesn't necessarily advance beyond that stage. Well, I hope I'll love it! Having never really been in that situation before, I won't know until I try. But, no knowledge is ever really wasted. It may take a certain amount of time... true! But I can honestly say I have very few regrets in life for having tried things. I think the worst thing one can do is to WANT something, or at least proclaim to, and then not to set about attaining it. Yes, the Kybalion online is fine. But I do believe that it deserves a place on the bookshelf of every student in metaphysics. In the Light... Hi Aselzion,I'm not entirely sure what it is I want to say, or, maybe I am and I just don't know how to say it. I'm a 25yr old male living in North Andover, and somewhat desperate to find/meet other occult-minded folks in the area. For whatever reason, I thought maybe you could point me in the right direction. I'm not a very public person, nor am I all that good at meeting people. I'm broke as a joke, so, I cant afford to take any classes, or, really, to even attend any events. Ideally, I just want to be a fly on the wall in a room with three or more intelligent, open-minded people. I dont know how kosher that would be, or how private your gatherings are,.. but I'm really craving fellowship with like-minded people. I'm definitely not looking to ally myself with any particular group just yet. I'm not a witch, but, if I were, I think I'd probably be a solitary anyway. I'm not particularly drawn to Wicca or Paganism, but I am fond of Christian Mysticism, and I've recently been studying Hermetics and the Tarot. I enjoyed the Kybalion, which seemed really to be reminding me of things I've always known. I just started reading Franz Bardon's Initiation Into Hermetics, and I'm very interested in both Astrology and the Kabbalah. Ritual appeals to me, but I'm still fairly content to dizzy myself with theory and speculation. Anyway - this is probably so misguided. But I don't really know who else to appeal to. What I'm really searching for, and what I've always been searching for, is a true mentor, but, then, first things first, right? So, can you help me? Hello Massachussets-Man! Wow, I can't believe we have so many people from Massachussets around these areas. I'm from Boston myself, well actually right now I live on the outside, so you ever hear of Stoughton? Anyway, I can't help you with your need to be with like-minded people, I have a lot of trouble with that myself, but first thing is first, this website is the perfect place to meet others who have the same feelings and ideas as you do. You want to meet people, HERE IS WHERE YOU START. Heck you just met two people from your state! You need to browse the site around, this site is loaded with hidden nuggets of information that will help you in the long run. It's a secret hideout for a lot of spiritual people. I don't want to brag or anything, but whatever you want you will find here. Think of it as another www.beliefnet.com, but more potent. -StarLover IP: Logged |

Greetings...Heart Shaped Cross.. what an interesting symbol that evokes! I can't always guarantee my level of intelligence, I tend to lace my mystical studies with a bit of humor whenever possible, but I would certainly be interested in talking sometime. Perhaps you and Star and I might arrange a meeting to discuss some of these fascinating topics. (I grew up and went to High School in North Andover) If you want, you may feel free to e-mail me at: aselzion@hotmail.com My time is pretty well compromised, but I like to think that I can eek out a few moments here and there to talk about the things that are nearest and most dear to my heart... I don't think the money thing will present any problems. What do you think? In the Light... A ------------------ "The ALL is MIND; the Universe is Mental." *** The Kybalion IP: Logged |
